My Savior

He wraps a blanket of false comfort around my shoulders,
In my ear he whispers soothing thoughts,
I let him believe that he’s got me in the palm of his hands,
What he doesn’t know is that I’m not weak enough to give in.

His sick motives are clear to see,
He made the mistake of labeling me as naive,
I could tell that he wanted me from the first time we met,
All of his shady actions will soon be worthless.

I feel his icy breath on my face,
A coarse hand lovingly caresses my cheek,
His seductive ways won’t have an affect on me tonight,
I won’t be the one to throw it all away.

Though I use all of my force to push him away it is no use,
He has gotten me in the firm grasp of his hand.
With one of his words I will be put under a deep spell,
His goal to send me into the darkness is nearly complete.

My feeble attempts are put to an end when another man comes into view,
His strong hands are able to free me from him without any falters,
I feel his warmth as he holds me in a sweet embrace,
He is the one I have awaited for all along.

He is my savior.
