When I Awake.

Restless ambition upon my eyes
dreams racing so fast.
If I blink will you be there?
Will you stand by for me?
Deep down inside I see people
dancing in the streets of despair.
And how they watch
watch the clouds.

When I wake will you be there?
Will you hold my hand through the hard times?
Can you be my only dream
to sing to me lullabies.
I want to see your face
upon the wake of me.

I want to see the snow
resting softly on the ground.
And entwined hands burned into
a warm memory of you.
Gently stepping on old photos of who?
Whom should I ask now for my life back.
And a guilty conscious lies
buried here in the back of my mind.

This is how I feel when I think of
this song.
I want you to know there is still time.
Willow trees that drape upon
pillars of lost time we've forgotten.
But do you hold down loose ends of life
that someone let go of?
Do you hold back your thoughts.

Graceful masks and and guns of steel.
Bullets of wistful pain that whisk towards you and I.
But our hand s stayed entwined for en eternity.
Frozen in time as we lay side by side on the ground.
A cold rush runs by
taking away your frightful soul.
And your blood washes away with the cold ran from the sky.

But does my body rise to be carried by time
to you?
Will I be able to go back to being just a child
who held your hand under a pale sun and falling snow?
When I die and when I awake
in a warm room tucked to sleep
will you be there for me?

[Inspired by a song from the movie 'Pans Labyrinth'.]
