Until This Day

A little girl
walking all alone
she's been told things
told things she didn't know
she sees the world
everyday the same
until this cold day
when she looked at the world
and saw it all
the things she's been told
all coming together
the things her parents kept
her understanding getting better
days ago she walked the same road
smelling the flowers
skipping the puddles
facing the rain
soaking in all the sun
not seeing anything at all
just what was in front of her
what she heard today
changed her thoughts for good
the world that she has seen
was all misunderstood
