April 18th, 2009 "On A Night I Pray"

Please, my God, take him home
the place he has lived in happiness for so long.
He deserves these last moments of joy and comfort
to gaze upon his battle with tons of great effort

His time is winding down, this you already know.
And how could I ever, ever let this go?
He's not home, not yet my Lord.
But with your guiding hand he may just be able to hold out a little more.

I may not be close to him as much as wanted.
But still love him deeply and care for what will be coming.
The pain we will feel will be sad and hard
it shall quickly end for his wish from his heart.

"Half full" he'll want us to keep in mind
and that he lived with no regrets through his lifetime...

Please, my God, make this prayer to be so
And know that when it's his time to go
Take blessed care of him and make sure he'll know;
"Don't worry, Poppop, you were and are finally now home."
