For My Aunt

Um...this is a poem/song I wrote for/about my aunt. I'm not going to go into details about it (she's not dead), but it's very important to me, and I think it translates better if you know it is about someone else, however I also think it works better as a song. Comments welcome and appreciated. It's a little long...
--------------------------------------------------------

I don't remember when I fell,
I don't remember falling,
Where was I? Oh, where was I?
I don't remember dying,
I said, I don't remember life,
Oh, where was I? It passed me by...

Do you know what I was like?
Do you know what I've...done?

Was my smile brighter,
Before I died, tell me again,
Tell me again.
Was my laughter louder, before I died, again,
Tell me again, tell me again, again, again, again, again.

Do you remember what I was like?
Do you know how I got...here?

I don't believe I fell so far,
I fell so far, I fell so far, I fell,
So far.
What's my father's name again?
I don't think I know, I just don't know,
And where did you go?
What's my mother's name again?
And where was she when I fell down so hard,
I fell so hard.

Do you know what I've been through?
Do you know what I know?

When I come to, I'll promise you,
That I'm never going back into that hell,
Oh well, oh well.
Tell me all those stories of my past,
And I'll pretend and I'll pretend,
You were my friend.
I'm so afraid, but you don't know,
I just can't stay here anymore, my friend,
I'm at the end.
