Ripped Wings

My black wings you will spread no more
You will no longer lift me when I fall
The caress of soft feathers against my skin I must forget
Flying through the skies I love most now be only a memory

Ground to this world I hate
Makes me want to drowned in the sea
I pray for the darkness to take over
Then I will fly in a new way

The pain not just where the blood runs free
It’s in my landed heart
Freedom only in mind
Never in body

Ripped wings won’t grow back
My once beauty is now disfigured
Deformed
My new shape sets in I’m not whole.

Ripped is my heart and soul
Ripped are my wings
