I was really shocked when I realized your main character was a boy, despite the male cover picture. Society often forgets that eating disorders occur in both genders, and male eating disorders are largely forgotten or ignored. The idea of self-starvation as a form of research is intriguing, and getting an insight into the mind of a person who'd do this is kind of disturbing but still intriguing. I also really like how you portrayed his parents; the perfect mother and harsh, distant father make it easier to see how he ended up this way. Also the declaration of "I did not need help" is really chilling...I really want to know where this story goes so keep writing!!
