I think that the reason behind why we're pleased that Jem's not gay is that he's not the stereotypical new gay best friend to the popular/celebrity girl.

Hope everything with the show went well! This chapter did make up for it, it's nice to see them spending time (even if it is on the phone) and also that she's allowing herself to know she has those feelings.

I actually want things to go horribly wrong for her and for him to forgive her anyways. I have all of it planned out lol =)
