I really like the prologue, you have a really nice simple writing style that provides a pretty good impact. I love the way you describe Emmeline (cool name, by the way), it makes me take an instant dislike to her but I don't know if thats what you intended or not :')

I think you've got a set up for a really addictive story line here and I like how you're doing it from different perspectives as well, dual narratives are always awesome :D

It worked out more as a coping mechanism than an actual story for me. Which I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing but it helped a bit
