Chapter 1
I held onto Gerard’s hand tightly, as I felt the cold water run against my ankles. I closed my eyes and breathed in the Salty New Jersey air. I felt the tug of the water as the wave crawled back into the ocean. I opened my eyes and look out as far as I could, it was beautiful.
Gerard came over to me and wrapped my in a hug. The uneven balance of cold and warm surged through my body. He smiled at me and held my tighter. I rested my head against his chest and watched as the sun slowly disappeared into the horizon.
“I love you.” He whispered.
“I love you more.” I replied and watched a wave crash. I smiled as more cold water numbed my ankles. I wished I could stay like that forever, in his arms. Sadly, I knew I couldn’t.
