You're Cute When You Scream

Blood Of Another

“Alright, so what did you have in mind?” I asked Zacky anxiously, so ready for this all to be over.

“It’s not going to be easy to pull off…and it will be especially hard on Myra,” he replied, almost unsure to continue.

He just needed a little encouragement. “Zacky, all we want is to get the hell out of here. Please, just tell me what it is and I know both Myra and I can comply.”

He was hesitant but continued never the less. “You and Myra both need to actually seem as if you’re in love with Syn and me. Now, after tonight, I think that shouldn’t be too hard to pull off…but God knows how hard it may be for her. My thoughts are that at the very least he will be so distracted by her sudden attraction to him that he won’t always be watching her like a hawk and then we can have a chance of escaping…”

It was a decent plan…better than I could come up with right now, but he was right. Myra is going to have a very hard time with that.

“Thank you,” I smiled, “for being so willing to help us out.”

I had been looking out the window as I said this, because it started snowing yet again, so I was a little surprised after Zacky had not really responded. I glanced over at him and saw him staring at his phone with a rather perplexed look on his face.

“Change in plans, Katie. We have trouble now,” he muttered.

“W-what’s the matter?”

“They have taken two more girls.”

I groaned as I sunk back into the bed. “There goes that plan…”

“There’s more to it,” Zacky said. “They’ve made some sort of deal with the doctor here. Shadows couldn’t explain it all via text…but it sounds like it’s rather ‘beneficial’ for them.”

“At this rate they’re becoming more powerful than ever!” I pointed out.

“We need to get out of here. Not even the hospital is safe,” Zacky sighed, jumping to his feet.

My jacket and other beaten up clothes were sitting over on one of the chairs in the corner. He brought them over to the bed and helped me as I nearly fell off the highly elevated bed. Wearing clothes seemed strange after emerging from the heavy layers of blankets and shedding my hospital gown.

“Where are we going to go?” I asked nervously as he helped put my jacket on.

It took Zacky a bit before he was able to answer. “We can’t just run away,” he admitted, “they’ll only get pissed at us. We just need to play along and stay out of the spotlight.”

I wasn’t sure exactly what was the safest thing to do at this point. And I didn’t know who these new girls were or what their situations were. But one thing I did know was that I trusted this man, my own captor, with my life. He’s the only one who can save me.

“Ready?” he asked, staring at me intently with his vibrant green eyes, seeming to be excessively bright right now.

Deep down, I knew that I really wasn’t ready, but I couldn’t say that to him. I smiled to the best of my ability and wrapped my arms around his neck as he carried me out of the room.

And what I was about to see was so insane that I couldn’t believe it was actually happening in a public health establishment.

*Normal POV*

The new girl and I exchanged glances. Surely, she must’ve been terrified out of her mind to see me the way I do. I think I would fell the same. But on top of that, she also probably realizes that she’s in some serious shit right now.

I walked slowly down the stairs, locking eyes with her until Synyster grew impatient and shoved me down the remaining stairs. “We have places to be, bitch. Keep it moving,” he growled, stepping over me and heading toward the kitchen.

My attention returned to the girl once I heard her say Ronnie’s name upon his arrival. How does she know him? I wasn’t so sure why, but for some reason I felt a flare of jealous arise inside of me. It wasn’t fair…I have to go to the hospital with this monster and she gets to stay home along with Ronnie, who wasn’t even too bad of a guy.

I cringed as Synyster pulled me by my hair into the kitchen. “You can stare later when we get back,” he said, annoyed.

“And where exactly will we be getting back from?” I pushed.

“As I said we’re going to get you a little test and meet up with the others at the hospital. Come to think of it, according to Shadows, there will be another new girl for you to stare at there.”

My heart sank a little bit. “You’ve kidnapped two in one night?” I asked, shocked.

“Oh,” he smiled, “we’ve done much more than that.”

He dragged me out to the car and threw me in the passenger’s seat. I was just thankful that the hospital wasn’t too far away…and that I’d be able to see Katie again. Although I couldn’t help but wonder what kind of test they’d be conducting…

The hospital, as expected, was pretty much dead at this hour. There wasn’t even a receptionist at the front desk. Syn texted Shadows, telling him that we had arrived; conveniently enough, they had been just down the hall in one of the first floor waiting rooms.

And then I met the new girl – a nurse who works here, absolutely covered from head to toe in blood. And call me crazy but I don’t think that was her own.

*Nicole’s POV*

“Sounds like we’ve got time to waste,” the Rev grinned maliciously as he glanced over at me.

I scooted as far away from them as I could, but unfortunately this couch only extends so far. The door was too far away, so I couldn’t make a run for it. Looks like I’m just going to have to wait and see what they’re going to do. I mean, surely they can’t be that bad, right?

“I feel like exploring,” the Rev continued.

Shadows agreed, almost as if they were both thinking the same thing, “Yeah, since you work here and all why don’t you take us over to where all the lab tests are done…”

I was confused as to why they’d want to see something like that, but I stood up regardless. Walking around could give me a better chance to escape. “I-it’s right this way,” I mumbled, leading them down the corridor.

Moments later, we reached the lab room. They wasted no time stepping inside and exploring all the tests and samples kept in glass containers. It looked like they were searching for something specific. I didn’t want to get to close to them, so I stood as near to the door as I could without looking suspicious.

However, that became a problem the moment I heard glass breaking. I turned around and, to my horror, saw that they were tampering with the blood samples. “What in God’s name do you think you’re doing?” I gasped.

They turned to look at me and smirked as they stepped forward, bringing the cart of samples with them. “If you wanted to play along, all you had to do was ask,” Shadows laughed as he reached forward, tightly grabbing the back of my head.

He pulled me forward, causing me to quickly lose my balance as I fell to the ground, hitting my knees hard. “Lisa Evans, age 45, blood type O+,” Shadows read off as he dumped the vial’s contents onto me.

I grimaced as the patient’s blood stuck to my hair and trailed slowly down my face and dripped off the tip of my nose in a thick, heavy stream. “Stop those need to be tested for the patients! That would take forever for us to recollect samples,” I pleaded, trying my best to ignore the blood on me.

“Oh, I think she wants more,” the Rev replied, clearly feeling entertained.

I looked at them like they were idiots. “Did you not just hear…,”I started to say.

They hadn’t even bothered to open the vials this time. Two of them were thrown at a very face pace, making contact with my chest. I screamed as the glass embedded itself into my flesh.

My blood began to leak out, mixing with the other patients’ blood, which could easily lead to an infection if someone else’s blood got into my body. I mean, after all, the reason why this blood is here is so that people can be tested for certain diseases/disorders.

“Oh by the way, that was courtesy of Bill Frankfort, age 72, blood type B- and Jenna Moore, age 12, blood type AB+,” Shadows so kindly informed me.

My chest felt like it was on fire as the pieces of glass seemed to dig deeper as my chest heaved up and down with each breath. And they still didn’t stop. They were determined to break every damn vial in the cart! That could take weeks to recollect. Although, something tells me that shouldn’t be my primary worry right now.

Nevertheless, the process continued, varying between one vial at a time to several, from pouring to breaking. Sometimes blood would drip into my mouth, torturing my taste buds with the taste of someone else’s coppery tasting substance. Sometimes blood would drip into my eyes, burning away at my retinas.

My knees seemed to be cemented to the tiled floor as layers of blood caked onto my knees and the floor below them. This was hardly painful in the physical sense, but damn it was tearing me apart mentally…the thought of someone else’s blood covering my entire body!

Just as they had run out of blood to spill, Shadows’ phone vibrated, indicating that he had received a text. “Looks like it’s time to meet up with Syn,” he announced as he and the Rev forced me to my feet and pushed me out the door, leaving trails of bloody footsteps behind.

We returned to the main lobby where a man and woman were waiting. I took one look at the girl and I immediately found myself staring at the floor. How could one person look so terribly beat up? Dare I say it, she almost looks worse than some car crash victims I’ve had to work with. Have they brought her here to heal her injuries? Somehow, I have a hard time believing that to be the case.

*Normal POV*

Blood was just continuously dripping from this girl’s body and collecting onto a puddle on the floor. I’d say that this is a horrible thing to have done or that I could never understand how a person could do such a thing, except those who did this are not people.

They are evil monsters capable of even the most unimaginable things. And something tells me they’ve still got several disgusting plans set for the future, especially now that they have four girls in their captivity.

“Can I help you boys w-with anything?” a doctor asked coming out of nowhere. He was looking up at first, but immediately stared anywhere but in this girl’s direction…he knew this wasn’t right, and yet he didn’t say anything about it.

“Yes, doctor,” Syn grinned, “I’d like to find out who the daddy of this little slut’s baby is.” He wrapped an arm around me, like a sideway hug, and squeezed tightly, putting sharp pressure on my bruises.

“Unfortunately sir, I can’t do anything of that sort until the baby is actually born,” the doctor replied.

All while this conversation was taking place, I couldn’t help but focus in on the doctor. He looked so familiar, it was driving me crazy…I know I’ve met this man before. He smiled sympathetically and that was what gave him away.

Dr. Manor.

“You’re the doctor from California – the one who didn’t believe me!” I gasped.

His eyes twitched for a moment but then he just avoided looking at me as much as he had done with the nurse. “I’m sorry for not believing you before, but this is out of my control now. Forgive me, Myra.”

“You can keep your bullshit apologies to yourself. I don’t need them,” I growled.

I shook free of Synyster’s arm and started to make my way toward the door. I could only imagine their confused / shocked faces. As I approached the automatic doors, I heard footsteps echo behind me.

The girl screamed, “LOOK OUT!”
