Love's Requiem

"It's funny how, immediately after you do a huge favor for me I'm repaying the favor." Jesse told me while we were packing at my apartment three days after everything between Alex and I had went down.

"It's fucking hilarious." I mumbled, folding my clothes and putting them in my suitcase.
Jesse was already packed and was spending the night because we were leaving tomorrow and because he said I shouldn't be by myself, he was probably right I was miserable.

"Look, are you sure you made the right decision?" He asked me as my phone started ringing.

"He's a back stabber."

"He's just slow on the uptake. Give him some credit he worshiped the ground you walked on."

"Until Lisa was around." I mumbled looking at the screen and saw it was Alex once again.

"What?" I said coldly.

"Look Bella please just hear me out this time." Alex begged.

"I don't want to hear it, once I get back I'll give you all your stuff and the car back."

"I don't want it."

"You seriously think I do? I'm busy packing see you on warped." I said hanging up.

"See why do you always have to be so stubborn?" Jesse exclaimed.

"I'm not stubborn I'm hurt."

"Which sends you right in to attack mode, look you're making it out like the guy fucked someone. He made an honest mistake."

"That would have been avoided if he went after me! See it in my view, his ex tries to fight me, he shows up and makes sure she's okay and stays with her and doesn't even come to see me specially since the last time we were together was two months ago."

"Okay so it does look bad." He began, "But you love him."

"I just can't Jesse, I can't not now." I told him going to the kitchen to get the pint of ice cream I had in the freezer.

"Put down the ben and jerry's!" Jesse shouted to me. "Go and be like most girls and go cry and listen to bleeding through." He added putting the ice cream away.

"I don't cry, I eat ice cream now give me my chunky monkey!"

"Look you're about to go on vacation and see your family and some of your best friends. Leave the drama at home, and enjoy yourself." He told me, "And then who knows maybe when you get back home you'll have a new approach to everything and will see you can
forgive Alex."

"Why are you on his side?"

"I'm on yours, and I know you love him Bella. I just don't want to see you make a mistake that you'll regret." He told me as he got up and headed tot he kitchen for a drink.

"You can be such a girl sometimes." I shouted to him with a chuckle.

"Well at least I got a somewhat laugh out of you for the first time in three days." He shrugged coming back and handing me more clothes.

The next morning, I woke up made Jesse breakfast while I just stayed with a cup of coffee because I still hadn't gotten my appetite back. I showered and changed in to a blue and green plaid dress, and a pair of tan sandals because as soon as we land in Croatia we'd only have enough time to drop off our bags before we'd have to head to Monica's bridal shower. We took a cab to the airport, and as soon as we boarded the plane i had passed out probably due to the lack of sleep I had the past few days. I slept the entire flight to Germany, I slept during the 3 hour lay over we had in Germany, and I slept through the flight from Germany to Zagreb.

"It's so clean here." Jesse laughed as we got in to a cab to my grandma's.

Jesse and I lugged our bags to my grandma's front door as I rang the bell, followed by her coming out a few seconds later.

"Isabella!" My grandma exclaimed hugging me tightly.

"Zdravo Baka." I smiled hugging her back.

"And where is Alex?" She asked as she looked at Jesse. "Who is this?" She asked confused.

"This is Jesse, remember Baka you've met him before." I explained to her, as she looked at Jesse.

"Oh yes! He's grown up so much I almost didn't recognize him." She said pulling him in to a hug while I told him what she said.

"It's nice to see you again." Jesse told her, as I translated to her what he said.

Jesse and I took out bags up to me and Niko's room, I wanted to go nowhere near the attic room. I winced though as December flashed through my head.

"You're thinking about him." Jesse said giving me a sympathetic look as he noticed me wince.

"Nothing important, you have to change quick we have to leave in a few." I told him as I pulled out my make up kit to fix my makeup and hair.

"The shower is today? Why am I going isn't that normally a chick thing?" He asked while he changed in to a nice shirt.

"Would you rather sit here by yourself watching TV in a language you don't understand?" I asked him as I looked away from the mirror.

"Good point." He chuckled as he fixed his hair in the mirror.
