Hello Beautiful

Hannah Montana Helps Me Warm Up (My Voice!)

Well, it's been a few days since I've been signed to Hollywood Records and now it’s time to get serious. I’m going to the recording studio today to work on my first album, called Don’t Forget. My friends all freaked out when I told them that Disney wanted to sign me.

"So, are you excited about the CD Laura?" Mrs. Jonas asked me.

“I’m excited about all of it, not just the CD,” I said.

"Well, that's good to hear!" Mr. Jonas said

"We better get going," Kevin yelled while coming down the stairs, with his brothers following
right behind him.

"Are you ready to sing your heart out?” Joe screamed, getting me pumped.

"YEAH!!!!” I screamed and started dancing around the kitchen.

"REST THOSE BEAUTIFUL PIPES, WILL YA?" Nick yelled over the top of my head.

"Why, thank you, Nicholas," I giggled as I said it.

On the way to the studio I had Kevin put in a CD I had burned. It was my warm up CD with all sorts of stuff on it to help my voice get ready to sing. The first song was one that I had written and was planning on recording. It was about a previous relationship.

“Hey, can you guys shut it for a second, I need to warm up!”

“Sorry Laura. Guys, hush,” said Nick

Scha
Scha
Scha
I probably shouldn’t say this
But at times I get so scared
When I think about the previous
Relationship we shared
It was awesome
But we lost it
It’s not possible for me
Not to care
And now we’re standing in the rain
But nothing’s ever gonna change
Until you hear
My dear

The seven things I hate about you
The seven things I hate about you
Oh you…
You’re vain
Your games
You’re insecure
You love me
You like her
You make me laugh
You make me cry
I don’t know which
Side to buy
Your friends
They’re jerks
When you act like them
Just know it hurts
I wanna be
With the one I know
And the seventh thing
I hate the most that you do
You make me love you

It’s awkward and silent
As I wait for you to say
What I need to hear now
Your sincere apology
When you mean it
I’ll believe it
If you text it
I’ll delete it
Let’s be clear
Oh
I’m not coming back
Your taking
Seven steps here

The seven things I hate about you
You’re vain
Your games
You’re insecure
You love me
You like her
You make me laugh
You make me cry
I don’t know which
Side to buy
Your friends
They’re jerks
When you act like them
Just know it hurts
I wanna be
With the one I know
And the seventh thing
I hate the most that you do
You make me love you

And compared to all the great things
That would take to long to write
I probably should mention
The seven that I like

The seven things I like about you
Your hair
Your eyes
Your old Levis
When we kiss
I’m hypnotized
You make me laugh
You make me cry
But I guess that’s both
I’ll have to buy
Your hands in mine
When they’re intertwined
Everything’s alright
I wanna be
With the one I know
And the seventh thing
I like the most
That you do
You make me love you
Shca
You do
Oh
Oooooooooooo
Ooooooooooooooo
Oooooooooooooooooo
Ooooooooooooooooooooo

“Wow. That was awesome!" Kevin said grinning.

"That was fantastic!" Joe basically screamed, trying to turn around in his seat.

"That sounded so professional! That was unbelievably the greatest way of hearing that or any other song!!!” Nick said.

"Thanks!!! Ok, we all need to sing the next one and act like complete idiots!!" I knew as soon as the next song came on, everyone would start laughing their heads off. “Nobody’s Perfect!!!”

Everybody makes mistakes
Everybody has those days

Everybody makes mistakes
Everybody has those days
Everybody knows what
What I’m talking ‘bout
Everybody gets that way

Everybody makes mistakes
Everybody has those days
Everybody knows what
What I’m talking ‘bout
Everybody gets that way
Yea
Sometimes I’m in a jam
I gotta make a plan
It might be crazy
I do it anyway
No way to know for sure
I’ll figure out a cure
I’m patching up the holes
But then it over flows
If I’m not doing too well
Why be so hard on myself

Nobody’s perfect
I gotta work it
Again and again
‘Til I get it right
Nobody’s perfect
You live and you learn it
And if I mess it up sometimes
Hey
Nobody’s perfect

Sometimes I work a scheme
Bu then it flips on me
Doesn’t turn out how I plan
Gets stuck in quicksand
But no problem can’t be solved
Once I get involved
I try to be delicate
Then crash right into it
But my intentions are good
Yea
Yea
Yea
Sometimes just misunderstood

Nobody’s perfect
I gotta work it
Again and again
‘Til I get it right
Nobody’s perfect
You live and you learn it
And if I mess it up sometimes
Oh
Nobody’s perfect
I gotta work it
I know in time I’ll find a way
Oh
Nobody’s perfect

Sometimes I fix things up
And they fall apart again
I might mix things up
But I always get it right in the end

You know I do

Next time you feel like
It’s just one of those days
When you just can’t seem to win
If things don’t work out the way you plan
Figure something else out
Don’t stay down
Try again

Everybody makes mistakes
Everybody has those days
Everybody knows what
What I’m talking ‘bout
Everybody gets that way

Everybody makes mistakes
Everybody has those days
Everybody knows what
What I’m talking ‘bout
Everybody gets that way

Nobody’s perfect
I gotta work it
Again and again
‘Til I get it right
Nobody’s perfect
You live and you learn it
And if I mess it up sometimes
Oh
Nobody’s perfect
I gotta work it
I know in time I’ll find a way
Oh
Nobody’s perfect
You live and you learn it
Cause everybody makes mistakes
Nobody’s perfect
Nobody’s perfect
Nobody’s perfect

We were all cracking up so badly by the end of the song that we couldn’t even sing anymore, but we were at the studio anyway so it didn’t matter.

“How long are we gonna be stuck here?” I asked.

If we’re lucky, a few weeks, if we’re not a few months. Depends on how well you sing,” Nick teased me.

But my brain had stopped processing when we walked through the doors of the studio. There were 2 drum sets, about 45 guitars, 3 keyboards, a grand piano, and about every other instrument known to human kind.

“You guys, this is so tight!” I ran over to the rack of the guitars and picked one up at random.

“We know. It’s our personal studio. No one can use it but us.”

“Why am I using then? Shouldn’t I have to rent my own studio?”

“You’re our friend. Our studio is your studio!” Nick laughed. God, he was so hott and amazing and cute and adorable, and just plain sexy when he laughed… Snap out of it Laura, he doesn’t like you like that. He just said you were friends.

“So, you’re the newbie?” said some guy that walked out of the booth, who happened to look a lot like…

“John Taylor! Oh my gosh, you’re like the best guitar player on the face of the Earth!!” I gushed.

“HEY!!!” yelled Kevin and Nick at the same time.

“Can I have your autograph?” I begged.

“I like this girl,” John said to Kevin, Nick, and Joe.

“Why didn’t you freak out when you met us?” Joe asked me.

“I-I did.” I admitted. “You guys just never saw it. Every time you so much as looked at me, much less said my name or gave me a hug, my heart started beating a million miles a minute. I didn’t show it because I thought you guys wouldn’t want to hang out with a girl who was bouncing up and down from happiness that you, the Jonas Brothers, actually knew my name. It was so huge for me to meet you guys. You’re what inspired me to get into music in the first place. I love you guys so much, but now I don’t just love you like a fan loves her favorite boy band. I love you guys like I love my friends back in Atlanta, at school and church and camp. Please don’t hate me,” I finished sadly.

Nick walked over to me and gave me a hug. I tried not to jump for joy that he didn’t hate me yet, but I had no idea what he was going to do next, so I just held my breath. “Laura, we wouldn’t have hated you if you had told us that you were a fan. We actually might have been a little bit peeved if you weren’t one.” As Nick was talking, my head was pressed into his shoulder, my arms were wrapped around his neck, and he was holding me close and stroking my hair with his free hand. He smelled really, really good, like the inside of an Abercrombie and Fitch store.

“Yea Laura, we couldn’t hate you. So what if you had freaked out when you met us? It wouldn’t have mattered. You’re still an awesome musician and a really great girl. We would still love you, even if you had pictures of us tacked on your bedroom ceiling,” said Kevin, laughing at the thought. Joe smiled and nodded in agreement. I was so close to crying, I think if anyone said anything else, I would burst into water works.

“Besides Laura, if you were a true fan then you would know that we love our fans more than just about anything. If you’re our fan and our friend, that’s twice as much love from all of us,” said Nick, smiling down at me.

That’s’ when I lost it. Tears started streaming down my face, but I didn’t make any noise. I just stood there, holding on to my music idol, my best friend, and the love of my life.

When I had collected myself enough, the guys wanted to hear me play something.

“We’ve heard you sing, now we want to hear you play the guitar.” Said Joe.

“Yea, come on Laura, please!!!” begged Nick.

“Fine. Which guitar can I use?”

“Here, use my green one.”

“I love this guitar! You’ve used it at all the shows I’ve been to. If I ever met you, I was planning on asking you where you got it.”

“It’s one of a kind.”

“Awesome! That is so cool!”

I plugged the guitar up to the amp and turned both on. I fiddled with the knobs for a minute until I had it exactly the way I want.

“Wait. What should I play?”

“Have you written anything good?” Nick asked

“Yes, but those songs are surprises," I said, winking at him, "Oh! I know what I’m gonna play!”

“What?”

“Listen.”

I grabbed the guitar and played Kevin’s guitar solo from Inseparable.

“Dude, you rock!!!”

“Ok, first of all, I’m not a ‘dude’ and second, I know,” I smirked at them.

“Where did you learn how to play that well?”

“Same way as Kevin. I used a ‘Teach Yourself Guitar’ book.”

“Sweet! I feel inspirational.”

“You are. Kind of. Do you guys want to hear a song I wrote?

“Definitely,” said Nick.

“Ok, put this CD in. I’ll go into the booth and sing with the music. I recorded the instruments at home. I use this CD for concerts and stuff, because I can’t play 6 instruments all at one time.”

“What’s the song called?”

“It doesn’t have a name. Maybe you guys can help me with that part…”

“Sure thing Laura.”

“Just push play.”

Don’t walk away like you always do
This time
Baby you’re the only thing that’s been
On my mind
Ever since you left
I’ve been a mess
You won’t answer your phone
I’ll say it once
And I’ll leave you alone
But I gotta let you know

I wanta get back
To the old days
When the phone would ring
And I knew it was you
I wanta talk back
And get yelled at
Fight for nothing
Like we used to
Oh
Kiss me
Like you mean it
Like you miss me
Cause I know that you do
I wanta get back
Get back
With you

Ayayayay

Still look at me that way
I see it in your
Eyes
Don’t worry about me
I’ve been
Fine
I’m not gonna lie
I’ve been a mess
Since you left
And every time I see you
It gets more and more intense

I wanta get back
To the old days
When the phone would ring
And I knew it was you
I wanta talk back
And get yelled at
Fight for nothing
Like we used to
Oh
Kiss me
Like you mean it
Like you miss me
Cause I know that you do
I wanta get back
Get back
With you

You were the only one I wanted
And you were the first one I fell for

You’re the only one that I’ve been needing
And I don’t want be lonely anymore

I wanta get back
To the old days
When the phone would ring
And I knew it was you
I wanta talk back
And get yelled at
Fight for nothing
Like we used to
Oh
Kiss me
Like you mean it
Like you miss me
Cause I know that you do
I wanta get back
Get back
With you
Get back
Get back
Get back
Get back
Get back
Get back
Get back
Get back
Oh
Kiss me
Like you mean it
Like you miss me
Cause I know that you do
I wanta get back
Get back
I wanta get back
Get back
I wanta get back
Get back
Get back

Yea-how

Ok, this one was only long because of the lyrics. I have writers block. I am sorry. I have a plan, I just need to figure out how to get to where I'm going. And for all of those who don't know, John Taylor is the Jonas Brothers' back up guitar player and he totally rocks!
