I watched him warily.

Then, I was in his arms.

I squeaked in surprise.

"Is someone scared of the big bad Vampire?" He smirked.

I glared at him. "I can walk on my own."

"Can you, now?" He asked, that smirk still on his face. "Prove it."

He set me down on my feet, and immediately my knees started to wobble.

I grinned in triumph, then discovered gravity.

He let go of me, and I immediately fell in the floor.

He laughed at my flushed expression.

"All right, you win." I muttered, and once again found myself in his arms.

"Now," He said, "We need to get you to the medical wing, to stop the bleeding, however else I would prefer it...."

He looked down at me with black eyes again.

I shivered, then remembered something.

"Tristan?"

He started walking.

"H'm?"

"What did you mean when you said 'It sings to me' ?"

He stopped and looked down at me again. "Do you really want to know?"

I nodded.

"All right. When I encountered you and Lady Topaz, there was a breeze. Do you remember?"

I nodded again. How could I ever forget that?

"I caught your scent. Your blood was practically singing to me. It was so strong...

I blushed, not really knowing what to say.

"Just as it is now...." He murmured.

My eyes widened.

His face was moving closer and closer to my neck!!

I was too scared to move, or even yell.

Those words kept repeating themselves over and over in my head.

He got close enough to bite, and opened his mouth.

The he shook his head, as if shaking out a thought.

He straightened, standing normally.

I shuddered at the thought, and he smiled a smile that didn't reach his eyes.

He resumed walking.

We were silent the rest of the way.
