Promise Not to Break My Little Heart or Leave Me All Alone

We finally halted and we were in a dark and deserted place. Where is this? He opened my door and then led me out the car. I looked around but the place was really unfamiliar to me. I have never been here. When I came down, I just saw darkness. But as my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I saw clearer. We were on a cliff and I can vaguely see bright lights from here. It would have been fun to stand at the edge and enjoy the breeze but I am afraid of heights so I stepped back a little as we walk nearer the edge. Ryan stopped as well and gave me a confused look

”I… I am afraid of heights” I whisper

“Oh, come on, I am here anyway. I’ll not let you fall” he chuckled

I gave him a frightened and nervous look

“Come, the view is wonderful here. You seriously have to see it” he insisted as he stretched out his hand for me to take. I hesitantly took it. I trust him not to let me fall. He smiled while he led me even farther to the edge.

“Don’t be scared, you’ll love this” he whispered to me.

We slowly walk and the next thing I knew, I was looking down the city, with so much brilliant lights. It was amazingly beautiful. I stood there in awe and amazement.

“This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen” I breathed out

“Not for me” he answered

I threw him a questioning look. He gently took both my hands and held them

“YOU are the most beautiful for me, nothing else” he said with so much intensity

I couldn’t hide the blush that was forming in my cheeks. I looked down and pursed my lips. He let go of my right hand and he used his free hand to lift my chin up so I was looking at him.

“Your eyes have so much meaning in them. I love the way they always sparkle when you are happy. They are like the stars out here in the dark night. They give brightness to me.” He said softly as he intently looks at me

This might look too cheesy for me if I were a by stander watching this or if I saw this scene in a movie but it feels different when I am actually the girl being told those words to. It made me blissful and elated deep inside. I honestly didn’t know what to say.

I was lost for words.

“Natasha, I know I told you that I can wait, but I just can’t stop myself. You never left my mind ever since I met you in the beach and even until now, you’re the last person I think about when I go to sleep.”

I continue to look at him, curious on what he was about to say.

“What… what I am trying to say is, Natasha Carson, can… can I get the honor of being your boyfriend?” he asked softly and with a hint of nervousness.

I look at him in astonishment. Did he really just ask if I could be his girlfriend or am I just imagining it?

“Please say something.” He said when I didn’t respond

“I… I cannot believe that you just asked me that” I stuttered

My heart was definitely pumping so fast in my chest. It was like a wake up call for me. I mean, I know that I am somehow attracted to Ryan but this just woke me up and told me “hey, you really really like Ryan that you are more than ready to answer him yes to his question” but of course, I was still in the state of shock and I needed to be able to think straight first before I give him my answer. I wouldn’t want to answer yes straight away because he would think that I am so obsessed with him. I know boys. Even if they are a gentleman like Ryan, they always need an ego booster. What more of an ego booster do you need than knowing that a girl is head over heels for you? I decided to act calm and cool about the situation as if my heart wasn’t beating a hundred miles per minute already.

“Please don’t do the silent treatment because that really makes me—“

I cut him off by pulling him to me and connecting my lips to his. I can tell that he was caught off guard but he got over it fast and immediately kissed back with so much enthusiasm. He brought his hands around my waist and pulled me closer while I tightened my hands around his neck. He pulled away and he was smiling so wide. He put his forehead against mine and looked into my eyes.

“Can I take that as a yes?” he asked, still wearing that smile of his

I bit my lips and nodded

After seeing that, his eyes beamed and he smiled even bigger. He enveloped me with a very tight hug.

“I won’t ever hurt you or leave you alone again. I’d do anything to make you happy” he whispered to me

I laughed and smacked his back softly.

“I am looking forward to that Mr. Ross”

We both pulled away and started to enjoy the sight before our eyes. We sat on the grass and watched the lights dance underneath us. It was a really breathtaking view. He pulled me close to him and we were somehow cuddling on the grass as we sat.

“You know this is a really special place for me and I promised myself that I will bring a girl that is special to me here one day. Only that girl. I have never brought anyone here yet, just you.” He whispered to me

“Really? I really do feel special now” I said good-humoredly
