Sequel: Black Rose

Statues Without Eyes

Training a New Way

Getting to a bar outside of town, it was classy, blended in well with a lot of rich people that went to things like this. Just I knew who I was looking for, he was around somewhere but I had to make sure I wasn't seen. Sliding the brim of my fedora over my eyes lower, I walked through the bar as some people looked at me.

"Where's Angelo?" I asked a guy who sat alone at the bar.
"And who are you?"
"Just a friend."
"A friend? I've never seen you around before," He started as I kept my gaze.
"Jimmy," I heard Angelo's voice come out of a stairwell, "She's fine. Come on Sylar, I've been waiting."

Giving the man one last look, I took to following Angelo up the stairs to his office.

"I know why you're here Sylar," He sighed as he sat on the chair as I stood.
"So then you know why Eric's in trouble."
"Yes, sit."
"What's going on?" I asked while sitting hesitantely.
"There's a hit out on Eric."
"From who?"
"The Russians," He sighed looking at me, "It all started with his dad."
"Why?"
"We still don't know exactly."
"You're not telling me something."
"Sylar, there's some things that you shouldn't get involved with."
"He's my son's godfather, if anything happens to him-"
"Which is why I'm trying to keep you safe. You have a beautiful baby boy at home who needs his mother. Not to mention the man watching your son right now."
"So what am I supposed to do? Pretend I don't know Eric's life is in danger? He's the one who saved me!"
"I'm sorry."
"Sorry? Sorry's not helping."
"Sylar, please just try to understand."
"Oh, I do," I glared, "Just don't ask me to go along with it."
"Sylar wait," Angelo went to stop me as I walked towards the door but I turned to face him.
"I can't watch my guardian angel just die," I looked down slowly, "It's not something I stand for. So either you help me stop this or you move out of the way."
Angelo gave me a light smile as he stood up slowly, "Are you sure you want to go down this road?"
"Yes. How long will it be before they come after me or Ryan again?"
"Ok," He nodded as he walked towards the door to open it.
"What are you doing?"
"You need to be trained, you're good but not good enough," He smirked as me.
"Thank you."

I followed Angelo down to the basement of the building in which there was an arsnal of guns and weapons as well as a boxing ring and punching bag.

"Fight Club?" I raised my eyebrow as he smirked.
"Something like that," He shown me around the floor as I watched him, "Training will start tomorrow at midnight, tell no one that you're coming here."
"Ryan will get suspicous."
"If he trusts you, then he won't worry."
"Alright."
"Can you handle it?"
"Can I handle it?" I smirked, "What kind of question is that?"
"Just a question," He smiled at me, "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Tomorrow," I waved as I walked out the door to head back to the house again.

As I walked through the house, it was quiet, peaceful as I made my way to the nursery to check on Tyler. Seeing him sleeping peacefully in his crib as I stood in the doorway. I felt a hand on my shoulder as I turned to see Ryan standing there with a smile on his face.

"He's beautiful," I whispered at him as he smiled, "It's a miracle that we brought him into this world."
"You're amazing," Ryan kissed my temple, "You went through 4 hours of labor to bring him in."
"Thank you," I smiled lightly as he kissed me quickly.
"Are you coming to bed?"
"Yeah."

I followed Ryan to our bedroom in which I went to find some pajamas as he sat on the bed.

"I got a baby sitter for this weekend," Ryan mentioned as I looked him.
"For? And who is it?"
"So we can go out on a date," Ryan smiled at me, "We haven't been on one in forever. I figured we could go to dinner, catch a movie, go for a walk."
"And who's watching Tyler?"
"Eric," He smiled, "He said he'd agree to. And well he'd have Calleigh around to help him."
"Who's going to watch him when I go back to work?"
"I talked to Alexx and she said she's help whenever we need her."
"You're so good," I smiled as I walked over to him, "I've been so slacking in finding sitters and everything."
"It's ok," He smiled at me, "You need a break."
"How long is that going to last?" I laughed as I walked to the bathroom.
"Hey."
"I'm taking a shower," I smiled, "I'll be back out soon."

When I got out of the shower, I crawled into bed as Ryan's hands went around my waist. One slowly started to move down to my thigh as I stopped him.

"Ryan, we can't yet."
"When?"
"A couple more weeks," I smiled, "You act like you haven't in a while."
"3 months," He groaned, "I just want to be intimate with you again."
"You will," I smiled as I snuggled up with him, "Just be patient."

Finally falling asleep, I was woken up 2 hours later to feed Tyler, than it was every other hour. It was exhausting but still, someone had to do it. And don't look at Ryan, he can't breast fee, at least I hope not. Finally getting two more hours of sleep, it was interupted by the phone ringing in which we had to go into work again.

"Sy," Ryan whispered in my ear, "Wake up sweetheart, we need you at the lab. We need you to translate some papers."
"In what?" I groaned as I rubbed my eyes.
"Finnish."
"I'm up," I yawned as I heard Tyler start to cry again, "But first, mommy duties."
"I'll call Alexx to see if she can watch him for a while."
"Thanks," I smiled as I walked towards the nursery to get Tyler out of his crib.
