The Beginning Is the End

Katie's POV

I strutted down the dark New York city streets, I was Vixen, I wasn't going to be intimidated by two girls, so what if they had super powers, I had an amazing crew and the one and only Doctor Manhattan. A few years ago I thought I could take anyone, I needed vintage Vixen tonight, I was wearing my suit slightly zipped lower than usually, I glanced up at the moon and grinned, I turned to the wall beside me and scaled it in two swift movements, I jumped up and slowly stalked my way across the top of the building, the city was crawling with bad guys now that Jei Ukime And Faith thought they ruled the city, I was about to take out six of their minions. I dove from the roof top down to the street corner where four of the power duos criminals sat waiting for the Watchmen as they had been instructed, they grinned widely when they saw me and jumped from their slouched positions, one had a chain in his hand, I tilted my head and laughed,

"Please, don't insult me by using a chain" I chuckled and swiftly dropped kicked the punk with the chain, the men all looked shocked and then ran straight towards me, I punched one in the nose and kicked the other where it hurt, the last glared at me and picked up the chain and began hurling it vigorously at me, but I was to quick, I dodged it every time, I finally grabbed it out of his hands and wrapped it around his neck, with one tight thug, he was down on his knees, I laughed loudly when two more appeared, I grabbed the gun from my ankle holster and fired two shots at them, I hit one in the leg but the other was too quick, I smirked, I grabbed the bloody chain up and threw it full force at the remaining scum, it tangled his legs, he squirmed around, I grabbed his legs and pulled him down the street, I cocked the gun and pointed it him, I was about to pull the trigger when I felt hands push my arms gently to my hips, I turned to face The Comedian and it began to rain, he shuck his head, I dropped my head and glanced over my shoulder at the massacre I had created, I sighed and handed him my gun, he laughed and threw the bad guy on the curb, I often believed he had super strength,

"I was just trying to get the old Vixen back" I admitted as we walked down the dark rainy street, he grinned and chuckled slightly when a large spotlight fell on us, I looked up, blinded by the light, I could barley make out Archie, it came closer to ground and we got in. Nite Owl yawned as he pulled back up to the sky, Rorshach grabbed me and pulled me into a hug, my eyes widened with confusion,

"That was...BRUTAL, I'm so proud" he gushed, I groaned and sat down, Rorschach cackled sinisterly, Comedian lit up a cigar and grinned,

"Could have used you in Vietnam" he teased, I frowned,

"I was just doing what I used to do" I admitted, Nite Owl snickered quietly,

"You use to be Rorschach ?" he asked and the three began laughing, I growled and opened the door and jumped straight out, I landed about 15 minutes away from base, so I decided to walk the rest of the way. On my short journey home I discovered that the rain and had stopped, I also stumbled across Ozymandias, sitting quietly under a tree, reading a book,

"Hey Ozzy" I exclaimed, he peered up from his book and smiled,

"Well hello Katie, what are you doing up this late ? Or rather this early ?" he asked quietly, I smiled a half smirk, he schooched over to let me sit down, I sat on the cold ground beside him,

"I was out, being a superhero, you know" I laughed, he grinned and nodded, he folded the page in his book and gave me his full attention,

"Where on Earth did you come from ?" he asked, a puzzled expression on his face, I bit my lip,

"The guys were teasing me, so I jumped from Archie and walked" I admitted, he raised his eyebrow and broke out to laughter, I hit him playfully and scowled, he grinned,

"You always have to be so dramatic" he teased,

"Subtlety never was a strong characteristic of yours" he admitted, I laughed, Ozzy was a funny guy,

"Thanks Adrian, I really appreciate your honesty" I chuckled sarcastically, he was laughing loudly now,

"Let's get inside before if rains again" he exclaimed, I nodded and we headed inside.
