Lost in This Moment With You

(Kay’s POV)

I woke up on this bright Sunday morning, crabby as hell.

I got up and walked down the hall, into the bathroom and splashed cold water onto my face.

I smiled as I saw August and Haley, sleeping on the recliner.

August was laying down sleeping with Haley cradled in her arms, sound asleep.

I pulled my phone out from my pocket and took a picture of that and then saved it as my wallpaper.

I leaned over Demetri’s crib and pulled him out because he was screaming his lungs out.

I sat down next to August and cradled Demetri.

And of course, Haley starts screaming.

That girl just doesn’t like me.

August woke and handed me Haley.

I tried to quiet both of them down, while August made their formula.

“Hello?” I answered my phone.

I lifted my arm and accidently hit Haley in the head.

“Shit!” I said quietly.

“Hello?”I said again.

“Hey!” Corey yelled.

“Hey! How are you? I haven’t talked to you in a while. I heard you went on vacation with
Kelsey.” I smiled into the phone and said “Kelsey” in a sexy tone.

Kelsey Long.

Fun girl and very nice.

Also, Kelsey is soon to be a “Jones”.

“So, when are you guys coming out again?” He asked.

“We’ll be out there on Friday.”

“Okay. Kelsey said she needs you on Saturday.. the big day.” He laughed.

Corey was so excited.

“Wow.” I laughed.

“Okay, well the twins are screaming. I’ll talk to you later.” I hung up.

“Corey’s excited, huh?” August smiled and handed me a pink, warm bottle.

“Oh thanks. I was thirsty.” I smiled and pretended to drink it.

August grabbed Demetri and fed him.

I stared down at Haley.

Haley is a devil spawn.

Evil child..

“Your kids are devil spawns.” I looked next to me at August and smiled.

She flipped on the television and the spongebob squarepants theme song played.

“Oh my god! I love this show!” I yelled.

I then hit August out of randomness because I got an idea.

“We should go out tonight!” I smiled.

She hit me back.

“Oh my god! That’s sounds great! One problem, though!” She was pretending to think it was a good idea.

“I got someone who can babysit.” I smiled.

“Who?” She rolled her eyes, awaiting my answer.

“Uncle Dakota!” I yelled.

She waited a moment.

“Your not serious, are you?” She laughed.

“I’m sure he won’t mind.” I smiled.

“Dakota… take care of kids? Are you feeling okay?” She felt my head.

“I’m fine! Dakota… would be a.. great babysitter.” I forced out the words then smiled.

“I don’t know…” She looked at Haley and Demetri.

“So, can I call him?” I asked.

“I guess he would be okay..”

“So, can I call him?” I repeated.

“He will be a good babysitter, right?”

“Okay! I’m calling him.” I smiled.

She rolled her eyes as I pulled out my phone and flipped through my contacts.
The phone began to ring.

“Hey you.” I smiled.

“Hey girl.” He laughed.

“So buddy, I need a favor. Well… me and August need the favor.” I turned and smiled at August.

She rolled her eyes.

“What?” He asked.

“Can you babysit the twins?” I bit my lip.

“Who’s idea was this?” He laughed.

“Mine.”

“Figures. August would have to have been high for her to say that.” He laughed.

“Haha. But yeah, she said if you could.” I glanced over at August.

“Yeah, I can. She needs to show me how to breast feed though. I’m not use to it.” He started to crack up laughing.

“Shut up.” I laughed.

“I have to go. I’ll see you later.” I laughed and hung up.

“He said he would.” I motioned my body toward August.

(August’s POV)

“I guess it would be nice to get out.” I smiled some.

“Can I borrow some jeans? Mine are all dirty with spit up on them.” I sneered.

“Yes and that’s nasty.” Kay smiled.

“Where’s Dakota?” I asked, putting on some earrings.

“He’s coming. Chill out.” She smiled.

Knock, knock.

“Hey! Come in!” I yelled.

“You two look good.” He smiled.

“I wouldn’t believe you just had twins.” He smiled and leaned next to me.

“No.” I smiled at him.

He laughed and plopped on the couch.

(Dakota’s POV)

It was around 9:00 (p.m) and the kids aren’t asleep.

“What time do you kids go to sleep?” I asked them.

I finally lost it.

Asking two three-month old babies when they go to sleep.

I picked up Haley and sat back on the recliner.

“You look just like your mommy. Beautiful.” I smiled, playing with her small fingers.

“And your dad..he’ll come back for you. He’s loves you..both of you.. he’s just afraid.”

A tear escaped my eye.

I looked up at the ceiling.

“He loves you..” I kissed the top of her head.

“He’ll come back for you..” I repeated.
