Chapter 73
Mikey walked out to the waiting area where we all were. He sat down and that’s when he started crying.
“mikey what’s wrong” I asked
“there’s complications with Chrissy so they kicked me out of the room.” He said
“she’ll be ok” I said
“I hope so” he said
And I turned and looked at frank and started crying a bit. What if she doesn’t make it. I would just die id lose one of my best friends. A few hours later the doctor came out and he took mikey aside. We all waited until he came back. He came back with tears on his face. I ran to him and hugged him.
“mikey its ok” I said
“she died” he said
“Chrissy .... omg no she cant be” I said crying and I hugged mikey even tighter
“no our baby girl she died” he said
“oh mikey I’m so sorry” I said
“thanks” he said
“where’s Chrissy” I asked
“in a coma” he said crying harder
“mikey she’ll get out of it she’ll fight to be with you” I said
“I hope so I don’t know what I would do without her” he said
“we’re here for you mikey” Ray said
“thanks I’m going to go get some fresh air” mikey said and left. I turned and looked at frank and he had his face in his hands. I felt so bad cause there’s nothing I can do for him. Hayley was crying on rays should and bob and Chibu were sitting there quietly and Kasey and Bert were looking at magazines and I saw that Kasey was crying I walked over to her and hugged her.
“she’ll be fine” I said
“I hope so” she said Kasey never really got to hang out with Chrissy and she still was crying that means a lot to me that means she likes Chrissy. I knew that Chrissy would fight to get better but I don’t know if she would ever wake up. I heard a door open and close and I looked and saw the doctor that told mikey the news and I walked over to him.
“excuse me I was wondering if I could go see Chrissy Way if that’s possible” I said
“that’s fine” he said and told me were to go and I just walked away and went to her room. I walked in. she was hooked up to a lot of things. I felt really sick when I saw how she looked. She was so pale. She looked like she was dead. I started crying. I couldn’t handle her looking like that. I sat next to her and held her hand. Then a song that the guys were working on came in my head. 'get me the hell out of here save me too young to die and my dear you cant if you can hear me just walk away and take me.' once I said it out loud I got a sharp pain in my side. I screamed cause it hurt so much. A nurse ran in and saw me on the ground holding onto my side. She picked me up and then I blacked out. I woke up in a bed at the hospital with wires attached to me. no one was in the room so I was glad. I sat up and an alarm went off on the machine and in walked the same nurse that helped me out before.
“what happened to me” I asked
“one of your kidneys burst.” She said
“is that bad” I asked
“well your out of surgery so you’ll recover” she said
“wait I already went into surgery for this” I asked
“yes and even though you have one kidney you can still live but we might be able to get you another one from a donation” the nurse said
“oh ok and how is Chrissy” I asked
“shes fine she started breathing on her own a few minutes ago” the nurse said
“oh good” I said
“do you want me to get any of them for you” she asked
“um no don’t tell them I’m here tell them I went home I don’t want them knowing im in this hospital bed” I said
“ok but there is one that is worried badly about you” she said
“what does he look like” I asked
“um he has a lip ring and a nose ring and a tattoo on his neck” she said
“oh that’s my fiancé um don’t tell him I don’t want him worried……how long will I be in here” I asked
“one day” she said
“oh ok” I said and she left. I turned on the TV and watched some cartoons when there was a knock at my door. I didn’t answer. Then the door opened and in walked mikey.
“Nat are you ok” he said
“yea I’m fine the nurse told you didn’t she” I asked
“yea she was worried about what you were asking her… she only told me though” he said
“oh thank god” I said and mikey walked over to me and hugged me.
“Nat what happened” mikey asked
“well all I remember is saying get me the hell out of here save me too young to die and my dear you cant if you can hear me just walk away and take me. and then I got a sharp pain on my side and then I was picked up by a nurse and then I blacked out. The nurse said one of my kidneys burst” I said
“why don’t you want anyone to know you’re here especially frank” he said
“I don’t want them worrying about me I mean you should be with Chrissy not me I mean I’m not that important I mean you are Chrissy’s husband what if she wakes up and your not there” I said
“she can deal she has friends around her and ill leave in a bit.” He said
“fine” I said
“so Nat is there something you want to tell me” he said
“no why” I asked
“do you want to die” he asked
“what no” I said
“I’m just kidding” he said laughing
“god that’s not funny make me sound suicidal” I said
“what I didn’t say anything but do you want to die” he said
“shut up” I said
“I mean your scary cause you sing part of a verse of a song were working on and then you get pain and black out…. Then Chrissy starts breathing on her own” he said
“ok its freaky but what do you think I’m gonna die” I asked
“no … well yes if you keep singing parts of our songs” he said smiling
“wow I think I might want to die what other songs have I heard.” I said thinking really hard.
“ok Nat shut up ill leave you but if I find out you take a turn I’m telling Frankie ok” he said
“ok but ill be out tomorrow can you make up a lie for me though” I said
“yea” he said and kissed my forehead and then walked back to the door
“ill come get you tomorrow ok” he said
“ok bye” I said
“bye” and he walked out and I went back to watching cartoons.
