Don't Be a Baby, Remember What You Told Me

Outfits

The only thing I hated about summer vacation was not having anything to do. I looked at the clock, 10:20am. I was surprised that Aubrey wasn't here yet, so I got in the shower. It ended as quickly as it began, I dried off and went into my room. Aubrey was laying on my bed.

"What are you doing?"

"Texting Joe."

"Joe who?"

"No one, don't worry about it."

I stopped in front of my closet, "No, you disgust me."

She laughed at me and I went into my walk-in closet

"What are we doing today?!" I yelled from the back of my closet.

"I don't know."

I pulled out my yellow skinny jeans and glow stick shirt and changed.

I heard the front door slam and footsteps up the stairs, "You did not." I said.

The door opened to reveal three boys. I rolled my eyes and went into the bathroom to do my hair. I blow-dried and straightened my long brown hair; my bangs swept perfectly across my face and cascaded beautifully down my shoulders. I smiled at myself and grabbed some mascara and eyeliner, I applied the perfect amount and went back into my room.

Kevin and Nick were sitting on the futon talking while Aubrey and Joe were talking on my bed. Everyone looked at me.

"What are you guys doing here?"

"Aubrey invited us over," Kevin said.

"Well, why don't you guys get invited to her house and leave me alone."

Aubrey was giving me looks. I pointed to the door and we left. Aubrey pulled me out of earshot of the guys.

"Come on, can we please stay here?"

"Why?"

"Because you know how my mom is with new people."

I sighed and made my way down the stairs, "Fine."

Aubrey cheered and we went into the kitchen. I got myself a pop and sat on the couch. Aubrey looked at me, "What?" I said.

She shook her head and asked the boys what they wanted to drink. She gave them what they wanted and they all took a seat around me.

"Where's your dad?" Kevin asked.

I shrugged, "Prolly at the studio."

"You guys should come over and see the new house," Joe said.

Aubrey smiled and I shook my head

"Come on," she said.

"It's okay, you go, I'll stay here."

"No, you should come," Joe insisted.

"It's alright."

Aubrey gave me a dirty look.

"I don't really want to go -"

RING RING RING

I ran up to the phone, "Hello?"

"Hey darling."

"Hey daddy, what's up?"

"I just remembered we have a photo shoot for that magazine tonight."

"Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me, I'll get my outfits ready"

"Alright."

"Love you, bye."

"Love you too."

I set the phone down and went back into the living room.

"What was that?" Aubrey asked.

"My dad called to remind me about the photo shoot tonight."

"What photo shoot?" Nick asked.

"I don't know, some magazine. They're doing an article about daddy's label."

"That's cool," Kevin smiled.

"Yeah, so I've got to pick out some outfits."

"Awesome! We'll help," Joe said standing up.

"No, it's okay, I can do it by myself," I went up the stairs and into my room.

"Are you sure?" Kevin asked.

"Yeah."

Aubrey walked in and sat on my bed, “Come on, just let 'em stay, that way you'll have a guys and girls point of view."

Man, she's good. I rolled my eyes, "Fine."

The three boys sat next to Aubrey as I went into the closet and tried on a bunch of different outfits.

"Nah, I don't like that," Aubrey said.

I sighed and walked back into my closet after showing them my seventh outfit.

There was a knock at the door, "Come in!" I yelled from in the closet

i heard some chattering and came back out in my eight outfit.

"Hey daddy!"

"Look what I got for you," he held a tiny box in front of me.

I took it and opened it up, "It's beautiful!" I said.

It was a diamond necklace in the shape of an 'R'

He smiled, "You can wear it in the pictures."

I smiled, "Of course! Thank you!" I hugged him and he went downstairs.

I set the necklace on my dresser and showed them my outfit. About an hour and a half later, I had picked out three outfits.
