Tequila Shots

Alex's POV
The white was beginning to make me feel light-headed. I wasn't nervous, not at all. Excited, yes.
I felt like an idiot. Standing in front of the large room, with a flimsy smile on my face, happiness practically radiating from me.
I looked down the line only to see Rian, Jack, and Zack staring at me, smiling at me.
Since we started planning the wedding, Emily and I moved out, into a pretty house 15 minutes away from where Brian, Melanie, and Mark had their condo. Emily's parents put the old house up for sale and had nothing to do with anyone - or anything - in Maryland.
Gabrielle was getting bigger, and more beautiful, by the day. She was only 2 months old, but she already had my heart like only a daughter could.
The traditional piano music began and Rian patted my shoulder.
And then she appeared.
A white, lace-trimmed, dress framed her petite body. She looked out of this world.
My smile widened and she winked ay me.
Brian escorted her down the aisle to me.
The music faded and the priest opened his book. I took Emily's hand and she grinned.
"Ready for this, Gaskarth?" she whispered, barely audible.
I didn't answer, because both of us knew it
Behind her, Selena and Melanie smiled at us.
The priest announced us and went on with all of the traditional wedding dialogue.
Then he said vows and asked us to repeat them.
"I, Alex, take you, Emily, to be my wife.
To share the good times and hard times side by side.
I humbly give you my hand and my heart
as a sanctuary of warmth and peace,
and pledge my faith and love to you.
Just as this circle is without end, my love for you is eternal.
Just as it is made of incorruptible substance,
my commitment to you will never fail. With this ring, I thee wed."
I slipped the ring on her finger.
"I, Emily, take you, Alex, to be my husband.
To share the good times and hard times side by side.
I humbly give you my hand and my heart
as a sanctuary of warmth and peace,
and pledge my faith and love to you.
Just as this circle is without end, my love for you is eternal.
Just as it is made of incorruptible substance,

A tear rolled down her face.
"Mr. And Mrs. Gaskarth, you may now kiss."
I wrapped my arms around her and lifted her to me. The kiss was soft, just enough.
"I'll love you forever." she whispered.
