My Road Trip

Happy Ending

For once in my life I was happy, completely happy. Not just a little happy or semi happy. I was fully happy, never have I been like this in ages. Even after my little episode three months ago in Winterthur, Switzerland, we by passed that and now here we are. Oliver and I, extremely happy being together. It is sort of like a fairy tale ending, minus all that cliché shit.

I woke with a smile on my face, buried in the pillow. The soft pillow cover against my cheeks, I stretched and giggled. I woke up like this every morning except Oliver was usually next to me. Not this morning though, he had to go in to work. I think he had a meeting, or that is what he told me last night.

Oliver and I moved in together, we moved into his place. Since I lived with my Grandma, I don’t think she would like how late people stay at the house. My Grandma is normally in bed by eight or nine when she feels like being a rebel.

I cracked my eyes opened and noticed the room was dimly lit. shaking my head I smiled. Oliver. I thought pushing myself up with my arms. My what was a pony was now all over the place. The blinds were still pulled down and curtains closed, Oliver let me sleep in late. What a sweetheart.

Sitting on my butt I stretched better. I had to get up, I was going to visit my Grandma. Some family was going to be there that I haven’t seen in awhile. And I missed my Grandma, even though I visited her like two days go.

Glancing at the clock on my nightstand, the little green neon numbers read ten in the morning. I had time to shower, dress, then leave. Grab some coffee on the way there, I was just going to walk. Oliver knew I was going there today, so he was just going to meet up with me later there.

I couldn’t help but smile at the picture on my nightstand. It was of Oliver and I, kissing in the coffee shop in Switzerland. When Oliver bought me a new camera, and that was the first picture I took with it. Pushing those memories aside for now, I wondered into the bathroom and showered. Blow drying my hair then straightening it.

I turned the TV on in the bedroom, the weatherman said it was going to be sunny and a high of seventy today with a slight breeze. Beautiful weather if I do say so myself. And I did just say so myself. Walking over to the windows in my towel, I threw back the curtains and opened the blinds. The sunlight pouring into the room, lighting the whole thing. I smiled.

We lived in an loft/apartment type thing. This is originally Oliver’s place but he offered me a place to live with him. Of course I wanted to live with him, I loved this man so much. Words couldn’t even begin to describe my feelings for him.

The whole place had a modern design to it, nothing big or out there. Clean and simple, just like how we both like it. Our bedroom had a four poster bed, king size. The wood finish was a dark walnut, matching furniture set. The walls were painted a simple warm gray color, the bed sheets were a beige and the carpet white. The duvet color for the bed was beige with a simple plaid design on it, it was a down duvet. Super comfy.

I walked over to my dresser and grabbed some lady things. Then over to the closet and pulled out my authentic blue super skinny jeans. I reached for my purple stacked Drop Dead V-Neck shirt. It was new and it was mine. I snickered and changed into my clothes. Then going back into the bathroom and putting on light make-up today.

With all that done, I walked out the bedroom door. Our apartment/loft was two bedroom, two bath. When you walk out of the master it is open, there is a railing straight across the room that you can peek over down into the living room. The second bedroom was next to the master but a hella lot smaller. It can only really find a full size bed. That is our junk room, where we keep unimportant things.

The whole loft showed bricks and didn’t have much wall space, and the wall space it did have we painted a tope color. The brick was a rust red color, and the railing of the stairs was rod iron. The carpet was white, we had two black leather sofas, a love seat and one which could fit three. A huge screen TV for Oliver and his video games.

I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, which was decent size. We had black marble counter tops and white cabinets with dull metal handles. Our appliances were stainless steel. We had an island, lots of cabinets for the decent size kitchen. Then off of our kitchen was our dining room, with our little table for two. It was dark walnut almost black looking, the chairs high backs with white cushions. We had dark walnut hardwood floors in the kitchen dining room. The rest of the house was carpet.

Seeing my hug sunglasses on the island, I grabbed them. Putting those on, I slipped on my black canvas shoes and headed out the door. Locking it behind me.

The sun was shining bright, not a cloud in the sky. Everyone and their brother was out today it seemed. It was sort of a walk to my Grandma’s but I didn’t mind. Walks were always nice, well nice to me at least. Oliver would of wanted to drive but he had the car today.

My Grandma’s old little yellow house came into view. I couldn’t help but smile and walk a little faster. I knew she would be sitting in her rocking chair in her living room looking our her window for me. Victoria and my other cousins running around in the background playing on the swing set and in the play house. Which was there when I was a little girl.

I skipped up the steps to the front door, opening it up and walking in. “Remmie!” I heard Victoria yell. She ran up to me and leaped into my arms. I caught her and spun her around, I walked into the living room. Not bothering to take my shoes off, no one did.

“Hey sweetie.” I said giving her a kiss. She was my favorite cousin.

“I missed you!” she said smiling. She looked cute with her blonde hair and blue eyes. The yellow sun dress she wore made her look like an angel.

“Missed you too. Where is everyone?” I asked.

“Backyard. Come on!” she said pulling me.

I was pulled out onto the porch, where Grandma sat drinking tea. The little ones were running around like crazy children. I smiled and sat down next to Grandma. Who looked adorable in her tan slacks and teal polo shirt. My Grandma was a small thing, about my height or shorter. Her white curly hair and dark blue eyes. She was adorable to me and I loved her. Her and her tan, black, white, Velcro shoes.

“Hey sweetie.” she said smiling at me.

I kissed her on the cheek and sat down, flipping my hair over my shoulder and smiled. “Hey Grams. How are you doing?” I asked.

“Good, good. How bout you dear? Would you like some tea?” she asked.

“Fabulous. And yes please.” I said. Io grabbed one of her china tea cups on the platter in the middle of the table. She carefully poured me some tea, I added a sugar cube.

“So where is that young man of your’s?” she smiled.

I laughed and looked down at my tea. “He’s at work, he said he would be coming over later.” I looked up at her, she was still smiling. She was so happy that I finally found someone, someone whom I am crazy for and love to death. She said she can hear wedding bells, I called her crazy.

“Good. I made him his favorite cookies. And where are those growing boys? His band friends.” Grandma always spoiled the shit out of the guys. Baking them sweets all the time. Some times when I come over I find them here. Everyone is family here.

Grandma and I chatted a little more, watching the children playing around in the backyard. Grandma telling me that my Aunt Lila was getting married once again, this is like her third time getting married. I think Grandma is trying to hint at something. Something being a wedding. I think she wants grandchildren. She should be hinting this to Oliver, not me.

“Grandma if you want a wedding, tell Oliver this. You tell me enough as it is,” I teased her. She took a sip of her tea smiling. “as for the grandchildren part, well, another thing you got to tell Oliver. He does all the work.” I laughed at what I just said, so did Grandma.

“Everyone having a party without us?” I looked over at the sliding glass door and saw Matty’s big head sticking out of it. Lee’s was underneath his.

“Matty! Come on and join the tea party.” I said smiling. Matty, Lee, Matt walked out. Jona was right behind them. Hm, Jona.

Jona Weinhofen. He was the new rhythm guitarist for Bring Me The Horizon. Curtis Ward left for personal reason but I love him so much that we still keep in touch. He keeps in touch with everyone I think but me the most. The guys have known Jona for awhile and he was their first pick for a new guitarist. They all already liked him but I was still warming up to him or he was warming up to me. Whatever.

Jona smiled at me and I smiled back kindly. He wasn’t a bad person, its just he was still knew to me and yeah. I like him, he was cool. The guys all piled around the patio table. “Where’s my boyfriend? Did you guys loose him again.” I teased, pretending to sigh heavily.

“Sorry Remmie. We lost him.” Matty said sighing heavily too.

“But we can explain I swear!” Jona said. I chuckled so did he.

“No need to explain, I am here.” I jumped out of my chair and jumped into Oliver’s arms. They wrapped around me tightly and I buried my face into his neck.

“Baby!” I said all cute, I could feel myself blushing. This boy can make my heart skip a beat and make me all giddy. It is unbelievable.

“Hey love, how’s my girl?” he asked giving me a kiss.

“Fabulous now,” I smiled. “how’s my guy?”

“Brilliant.” he whispered, giving me another kiss.

We walked over and he sat down in my chair, I sat on his lap. My arms wrapping around his neck. “Well I wanna sit on someone’s lap!” Matty said smacking his hand on the table top.

Jona scooted back and rubbed his lap, smirking at Matty who smirked back. “Come here big guy.” Jona said in a seductive tone. Everyone busted out laughing, Matty leaped and sat on Jona, hugging him. Jona rubbed Matty’s thigh, Matty jumped off his lap.

“Gay moment done!” he said sitting down again.

Everyone laughed again. They brought so much more laughter to this house it was amazing. My whole family loved the guys of Bring Me The Horizon. Seeing past their tattoos and horrible swearing, they were all good guys.

We stayed there for several more hours, everyone talking and talking. Actually, Oliver was whispering cute little things in my ear. Then kissing me softly and holding me tight. We were in love, there was no doubt about it. I don’t think anyone at this table would argue with that logic, everyone knew it. We were head over heels for each other.

The sun was starting to set, the warm hues of oranges and reds casting rays everywhere. Oliver and I were getting ready to head home now. I was hugging the guys goodbye. Everyone of them picked me up and spun me in a circle. Well all except Lee, he was too short.

Jona set me down and I shook my head. “I am dizzy.” I stated. Jona ruffled my hair and I pretended to glare at him.

Sticking my tongue out at him, I walked over to Grandma and gave her a huge. She was sending home Tupperware full of cookies and other little desserts for Oliver. I knew he would be having midnight snacking on those.

“Take care Remmie honey. Talk to you later. Love you.” Grandma said into my ear.

“I will Grams, love you too.” I said back. She gave me a squeeze before letting me go and hugging Oliver.

“Take care of my baby girl,” I heard her whisper to Oliver. “love you Oliver.”

“Trust me Grams, I will take very good care of her. Love you too.” he whispered back. I found myself blushing at that, I grabbed the goodies and walked toward the door.

“Bye everyone! See you boys tomorrow at practice.” I said opening the door, Oliver was right by my side, his arm around my waist.

“Bye Remmie!” they all called from the living room.

Oliver and I walked out, hand in hand. My head rested against his shoulder, he gently kissed the top of my head. We reached the car and got in, he drove us home. We held hands as he drove.

“I love you Oliver.” I said smiling at him. He smiled back at me.

“As I love you too Remmie.”
