I Fell In Love When I Least Expected to...

The next time I woke up I realized it was early morning. I felt refreshed; I couldn’t have possibly slept for just a couple of hours!
There was a knock on the door and when I said it was okay to enter, Nate walked in.

“Hey, how are you feeling? You’ve been out for a day…” Nate chuckled.
“Fine, thank you” I said smiling at him.
A day?! Holy cow…
“Well you’re not tired anymore but you must be hungry” Nate said.
My stomach growled loudly at that and I blushed.
Nate laughed and took my hand in his. He started caressing my hand with his thumb as he led towards what I hoped was… food.
That simple gesture scared me though. What if he liked me? What if he thought I was his mate?
I know for a fact I’m not and besides, I can’t return those feelings… as much as it hurts to admit it, I’m in love with a vampire… who doesn’t love me back.
