Gaara buried himself with his paperwork, trying hard to get rid of his thoughts. It had only been 7 months but to him, it had felt like yesterday.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and before Gaara was able to give permission, it cracked opened.
“You may come in,” Gaara sighed after his sarcastic comment. He looked up to see his older brother, Kankuro.
“Gaara, I brought you some girls...”He said as he walked inside the Kazekage's office.
“Girls?” Gaara asked confused, “I only asked for one...”
“Yeah, well....I still wanted you to decide, you know? I mean your gonna be marrying the chick....”Kankuro explained as he rubbed the back of his neck.
Gaara said nothing as he stared at the clipboard his brother was holding. Noticing his gaze, Kankuro placed it on his desk.
“I picked out five girls, these are their picture and everything you need to know about them...”Kankuro described.
Gaara showed no interest as he flipped through the five pages rather quickly. Kankuro couldn't help but tell him more about the girls, “Their waiting in the other room....I thought you would like to see them in person? ”
Gaara gave out a sigh as he got up from his chair, “I guess the quicker I pick out my bride then the faster this is going to be over,”
Kankuro looked at him concerned, afraid of what his little brother couldn't understand, “You know, marriage isn't something so easy....if you want me and Temari can talk to the elders and ask them if they can wait until your a bit more older....”
Gaara raised his eyebrow at the thought, “No, this needs to be done for the village....I'm doing this for my people....this is what a Kage has to do....”
Kankuro nodded, admiring the bravery of his little brother. He led Gaara to the room, telling him that these girls knew that if they were picked, they would be married to the Kazekage. Finally reaching the door, Kankuro stopped to ask Gaara one more question before the door was opened, “Are you sure you want to go through all this?”
Gaara nodded and entered the room to view the five girls that his brother had sought. Half of them squealed as he had made his appearance.
“Uh,”Gaara couldn't help but to let out his reaction as one girl danced over to him.
“Please form a line,”Kankuro said as he took the girl away from the Kazekage.
“I forgot the clipboard...”Gaara muttered to his brother. Kankuro looked at him surprised at his sudden interest.
“Do you want me to go get it for you?”He asked, but Gaara shook his head as he began to study the five young girls.
In his head, he had already eliminated the two fangirls, while he wanted the dancing girl terminated, he had his eyes on the two who were left to choose from.
“What are your names?”He asked as he moved in closer to them.
“My name is Sachi Ashiya. Please to meet you Kazekage-sama”The first girl bowed. Her red hair was pinned down into a bun as her light skin shined from the light.
Gaara eyes widen, he could feel his heart skip a beat from the name.
“My name is Ren Hisaya, it's a pleasure to be able to meet you!”bowed the second girl. She was covered in a long brown thick cloth, making it hard to see what her hair color was or what eye color she obtained.
“You...your going to be my bride....”He muttered as he grabbed hold of the young girl's hand.
“Gaara?” Kankuro said as he watched Gaara walk away with his bride to be.
“Uh, thank you for coming today! Please leave the building now!”Kankuro said before he chased after his brother.
“Gaara!” He called out, “Are you sure your making the right decision?”
Gaara stopped walking, making hard for the girl not to walk into him, “I'm sorry, Kazekage!”
“Only because her name was Sachi doesn't mean you can't pick her...”Kankuro whispered into Gaara's ear.
“I have picked out my bride, please send her to her room!”Gaara ordered as he walked away.
“Wait-! Gaara!...I'm sorry!”Kankuro yelled out at him. He sighed as he put his hand over his face, “Damn it!”
Well at least he picked someone....even if this girl....
Kankuro studied the young girl.
...I didn't expect him to choose someone like her...
“I'll show you to your room...”He finally said as he lead her to an empty beautiful room.
