Everlasting Love

“I’ll be fine Als” Jacob told me his black eyes penetrating my light gold eyes.

“You better be” I mumbled while my lips formed into a pout; my arms were crossed over my chest as Jacob was preparing to confront Bella to see how her control was before she saw Renesmee, I tried to tell Jacob that with me in the room Bella couldn’t attack anyone but of coarse Jacob didn’t listen to me.

“Nothing will happen” My brother reassured me while poking the tip of my nose; I smiled slightly as Jake used to do that when we were younger.

I kept pouting as I watched Jacob walk outside to meet up with Bella and Edward; I was not happy about letting him go by himself, what if something did happen? I wouldn’t be there to help, I know Seth and Leah will be keeping an eye on Jake but it’s easier for me to stop things with my gift.

“He will be fine love” Jazz reassured me yet again as he placed his hands on my hips from behind; I signed quietly as I leaned into his body more.

“If Bella even scratches Jake with her teeth then he’s gone” I said letting my eyebrows pull together in worry.

“Nothing will happen, Edward will look after them” Jazz promised giving my cheek and neck butterfly kisses as we waited for Jacob, Edward and Bells to come inside.

As we heard their footsteps we stood back so we were in a line; I was facing Alice but my attention was on the backdoor, I wouldn’t relax until I saw that my brother was safe. My body relaxed when Jacob walked into the living room first; he instantly went to stand in front of Rosalie who was holding Renesmee, Bella’s eyes flickered over everyone before they landed on Renesmee who was trying to look around Rose and Jacob’s bodies.

“Yes, that’s her” Rosalie said as Renesmee placed her little hand on Rose’s neck; Renesmee smiled brightly at her mother.

Bella took a step forward but stopped instantly as Jazz, Spencer and Emmett blocked her path; Edward grabbed Bells from behind while Esme and Carlisle stood on Spencer and Emmett’s flanks, Rose backed towards the front door while Jacob moved with her. Alice and I looked at each other quickly rolling out eyes at them; I mean come on!

“Give her some credit, she wasn’t going to do anything” Alice told them.

“You would want a closer look too and besides I wouldn’t let her do anything” I added.

“I’m okay I got this, keep close though” Bella reassured us but whispered the last part to Edward; Edward let go of her arms as everyone started to part ways, I touched Jasper’s arm when he didn’t move as easily as everyone else.

“Jazz, she will be fine trust me” I said when he didn’t move; I could tell all Bella wanted to do was see her daughter.

Jazz walked back to my side as we all followed behind Bella and Edward as they made their way towards Rose and Jacob; suddenly Renesmee let out a high, ringing wail. Within seconds everyone was around her trying to calm her down; from the corner of my eye I saw that Bella was the only one who wasn’t standing among us and I instantly felt guilty.

“What’s the matter? Is she hurt? What happened?” Jacob asked in the loudest and clearest voice; Jake reached out for her and Rose gave her over to him.

“Nothing, she just wants Bella” Rosalie said as Renesmee’s little arms reached out towards her mother.

“She wants me?” Bella whispered looking into her daughters eyes; the same eyes Bells used to have.

“Of coarse; she’s been waiting three days to meet you” Edward reminded his wife as he flitted to her side.

Jacob searched Bella for any sign of her losing control but he found nothing; he stretched his arms out so Bella could cradle Renesmee but he didn’t let go, I smirked as I saw Jacob shiver from Bells icy cold skin.

Everyone rushed closer to Bella as Renesmee’s hand made contact with Bells cheek; we all knew Renesmee would be showing Bella something with her gift and no one knew how Bella would take it but we weren’t going to risk anything.

“What… was… that?” Bella asked slowly.

“I told you it was hard to explain but effective as communications go” Edward murmured into Bells ear but everyone heard him.

“What did she show you?” Jacob asked.

“She showed me that? It was me, I think but I looked terrible” Bella replied.

“It was the only memory she had of you” I said knowing what Renesmee showed Bella.

“But how did she do that?” Bella asked.

“How do I read minds? How does Alice she the future? How does Jasper feel emotions? How has Alex control everything? She’s gifted” Edward explained going through everyone who had a gift.

“She’s fine” I said quietly to everyone who were still hovering; I placed my hand on Jasper’s arm as I stepped back to give Bells some space.

“Haven’t we experimented enough for one day?” Jacob’s voice was slightly higher from stress.

“What is your problem Jacob?” Bella asked firmly as she pulled Renesmee closer to her chest; Jacob moved closer as well making Renesmee touch both their chests.

“Just because I understand doesn’t mean I wouldn’t throw you out; Bella’s doing an amazing job so don’t ruin it for her" Edward hissed.

“Nothing is wrong Bella, right Jake?” I said not wanting to ruin Bella’s day by telling her that Renesmee is Jacob’s imprint; that can come later.

“No!” Bella gasped; I lowered my head as Bella figured out what was going on, Jasper’s teeth came together and Edward tightened his grip on Bells.

“Rose, take Renesmee” Bella demanded handing her daughter over to Rose.

“Edward stand in front of Renesmee” Bella ordered her husband firmly; Edward did as he was told as Bella leaned into her hunting crouch, I was quick to stand beside my brother.

“How could you? You stupid mutt! My baby?” Bella snapped as Jake and I backed out the front door and towards the forest; immediately we were joined by Leah and Seth.

“You know I can’t control this” Jacob defended himself.

“How dare you imprint on my baby!” Bella hissed in fury; I felt anger rise in my own body as Bella yelled at my brother, I quickly stood in front of my brother in a protective crouch.

Leah snapped at Bella causing a fearsome snarl to be heard coming out of Bella’s throat; at that moment my anger clouded my senses as I too let a furious snarl out.

“Bella, listen to me please? Alex, Leah cut it out” Jacob begged.

“You’re going to stay away from her” Bella said in anger.

“You know he can’t do that” I snapped at Bella as we continued to snarl to each other.

“Come on Bells, Nessi likes me too” Jacob insisted.

“What did you call her? You nicknamed my daughter after the Loch Ness Monster!” Bella screened.

I watched as Bella lunged for Jacob’s throat but I wasn’t going to let her anywhere near my brother; not now, not ever! I had only taken a few steps towards Bella as she continued to fly towards us when I heard someone tackle Jacob to the ground and out of the way; a spilt second later I felt a hot body slam into my own causing me to be pushed out of the way.

I stayed on my feet so once I regained my balance I spun around just in time to see Bella crash into the right side of a sandy coloured wolf.

“Seth!” I screamed in horror as I saw my best friend’s body slam to the ground.
