Time Is Galleons

Happy Christmas

I woke up to a large amount of chuckling. What the hell was going on? My eye slowly flickered open. The first thing that I saw was George's sleeping face. When he slept — he looked so peaceful, calm and adorable. I heard more snickering. Where the hell was this coming from? My eyes shifted as I looked behind me. There was six guys just standing there, laughing. I quickly grabbed my glasses and pulled the cover over my tank top. I noticed it was Fred, Lee, Harry, Ron and George's two other roommates that I never even talked to.

"May I help you?!"

"Well," Fred coughed as he tried to stifle a laugh. "So how was. . .George last night?"

". . .What do you mean how was he last night?"

Ron looked at me, kind of bug-eyed. "I can't believe you shagged my brother. . . . That's a bit. . .weird, mate."

". . .You all better get out of here before I castrate all of you with a rusty knife and rip off your dicks."

Fred's eyes widened slightly as I glared at him. "Come on, you lot, I think we rather be in one piece." Luckily, they all left.

I turned to George and cuddled up to him as he slept after I checked the time. It was already 9AM on Christmas morning. I had to wake George up to get ready. We got permission to use the Floo Network to the Burrow instead of spending the vacation here. I smiled as I got on top of him slowly and rested my body against his. I kissed him on his lips softly. He stirred before opening his eyes slowly and looking up at me. Almost instantly, his arms wrapped around my lower back.

"Well, good morning, beautiful," he yawned out.

I kissed him again. "Good morning, handsome. Unfortunately, it's nine and we have to start getting ready for your house."

"Yeah. . .we should do that."

"Oh, by the way," I gave him a long kiss this time, "happy Christmas."

"Happy Christmas, Abbie. It's our first Christmas together."

"It is. I'm glad I get to spend it with you. I wouldn't want to spend it with anyone else."

"Of course you wouldn't. I'm way sexier than anyone else."

I couldn't help but to giggle. His arm stretched across the bed and opened his night stand. His hand rummaged through it before he pulled out a wrapped box. I watched it as he pulled it closer. I looked from the box to George's face. He looked quite content as he kissed my cheek and handed it to me. I grew more confused as I took it slowly from his hand an slowly opened it. It was the most beautiful necklace anyone had ever given me. It was a golden key on a necklace. Part of the key was shaped in a heart. I looked up from the necklace and stared at him.

"I'm glad you like it." He brushed my fringe aside and simply smiled.

"George. . .it's. . ." I didn't even know what to say. It was the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for me.

"Here," He grabbed it from me, "sit up. I'll help you."

I didn't say anything. All I did was sit up and look at him. He sat up slowly with his legs on each side of me. He played with the clasp a little before putting the chain around my neck and hooking it back together once again. I looked down as the golden key hung in the centre of my chest.

"It's real gold. I actually bought it at a Muggle jewellery shop. I was just taking a walk and I saw it in the window and knew I had to get it for you."

"Muggle? How did you have pounds?"

"I didn't. The clerk saw my money and let me pay with it, he was actually a squib."

"Talk about luck, huh?"

"No kidding."

"I really do love it, George. It's the best present anyone's ever given me. But. . ."

"I know what you're going to say. I was actually. . .planning on asking you to be my girlfriend. I was gonna ask you a few weeks ago, but I kept getting too nervous. I couldn't bring myself to do it. I was afraid you thought of me just as your best friend. When I saw Léon taking you to the Ball, I knew I had to make you mine before I lost you to someone else."

"Can't lose someone who wasn't planning on stop waiting for you."

We kissed softly. I loved his kisses. I had waited two years for them, I couldn't get enough of them now.

Someone cleared their throat. "Come on you lot. Enough with all this mushy rubbish. It's making me sick."

I turned around and saw Fred. I felt bad for him, it didn't seem the whole Louise thing was going over well. "No luck with Louise, mate?"

"Luck?" He laughed once. "I haven't talked to her. Don't really want to. She's a right foul git. I can't even stand the thought of her."

"Alright then. We should start getting ready for going over to the Burrow." I got up and walked by Fred. I pulled him down and kissed his cheek.

"Happy Christmas, Fred."

"Happy Christmas, Abbigail."

When I got back to my dormitory Hermione looked at me and almost freaked. "Where were you last night?! We got so worried when we couldn't find you this morning!"

I looked down at my feet and cleared my throat. I could see Louise smirk in the corner of her eye. I had a feeling she already knew where I was. "Well. . .I was in George's dormitory last night."

"Abbigail. . ." Hermione started slowly, "why were you in George's room?"

"Because I wanted a night to sleep in my boyfriend's arms. . ." I said back as slowly as she did.

"Boy-boyfriend?!" Hermione smiled widely and walked over to me and gave me a hug. "When did this happen?"

"Last night at the ball."

"Well about time," Louise spoke up just looking at me and Hermione. I don't really think she knew what to make of it. With her and Fred's business anyways. "You two have only waited — what — two years for this?"

I couldn't help but to blush and smile slightly. "Good things happen to those who wait."

When we were all packed, the seven of us — Fred, George, Ron, Ginny, Harry, Hermione and I — walked into Professor McGonagall's office. We were using her fireplace to get to the Burrow. When she saw all of us, she informed us that only two people could go at a time and wished us all a happy Christmas. When she saw George and I holding hands, she smiled a little.

"I think everyone was wondering when this was going to happen. Even the Professors knew you two would end up dating. Well, congratulations and happy Christmas."

We gazed up at each other before smiling back at McGonagall. We said at the same time, "Happy Christmas, Professor." With that said, we grabbed our trunks and stepped into the green flames. George said "the Burrow" clearly.

Within a few seconds we were walking out of the green flames and into the Burrow's living room. We were bombarded with hugs from Mrs. Weasley. It didn't take long for her to notice that we were holding hands.

"My. . .when did this happen, dearies?"

"Last night, Mum." George beamed even more as the smile on Mrs. Weasley's face grew.

"I'm so happy for you two! But it's about time. Now, go into the kitchen and grab a plate. As soon as everyone's here, we're going to have a late breakfast. Happy Christmas."

"Thanks, Mrs. Weasley. Happy Christmas to you as well. I dragged George's hand as I walked towards the kitchen and spotted Mr. Weasley munching on some bread. "Hi, Mr. Weasley! Happy Christmas."

"Abbigail, George, happy Christmas." He looked down at our hands and smiled slightly to himself and said, "ah." His eyes moved up to us and he smiled even more. "So, how was the Ball?"

"Great. You should have seen Abbie, dad. I thought she was a princess last night, I swear."

I couldn't help but to blush madly. I looked down and stammered. "I-I did not! It was just a dress. . ."

"I'm sure you looked beautiful," Mr. Weasley assured me. "Oh, your father should be coming back downstairs anytime now."

It was right on cue. My father walked down the stairs slowly and looked towards the kitchen. His face lit up as soon as our eyes met. I don't think he even knew we arrived. I ran towards him and he held his hands open. I hadn't seen my dad in ages. Most of the holidays we had, father was on a business trip for the Ministry. I hugged my dad so tight, I thought I was going to break him — then again, I had no muscles in order to do so.

"Dad!"

"Abbigail! How've you been princess? I've missed you so much. Have the twins been taking care of you?"

"I've been fine and I've missed you too. And they have."

The rest of the night was filled with my father asking George how we started dating, presents, jokes, laughing and smiling. George and I couldn't help but to blush when Dad asked us. Fred and Ron were making fun of George for how it happened, Ginny thought it was cute and Harry didn't even know what to make of it. Most of the night ended with the seven of us hanging out in Ron's room. It was rare that we were hanging out with everyone in Ron's room. Sure, the twins spent plenty of time with their other siblings, but it was different when everyone had their friends over. The only thing missing was Louise. As much as I really don't know on whether I like her or not, it was odd with her not there. For the past two years, she was always there. Without her, it was. . .weird.

Mrs. Weasley came into Ron's room before her and Mr. Weasley went to bed. "Just so you all know, we're heading over to the Underwood's tomorrow. Louise's throwing a party for the Ministry tomorrow and your father's been invited so we're all going. Harry and Hermione, you've been invited too. And Abbie, your father's been invited so you'll be going as well. Now, Abbie, your father wants you home tonight, dear. He's waiting for you downstairs. Good night, everyone."

I looked and George and pouted. I didn't want to go home tonight. I wanted to stay at the Burrow. But then again, I hadn't been home in God knows how long. I gave him a kiss and a hug. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"Alright, love." When I was almost at the door, he turned around and smiled. "I love you."

"Love you too."

As I walked down the stairs, I could hear Ron ask, "you've only been dating for a day and you're saying you love her?"

The next thing you could hear was someone being smacked on the head. "Ron, isn't it a little obvious we fell for each other a while ago?"

". . .This is very true."

"Come on, George. Let's go to bed. I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a pile of rubbish. I need sleep."

"Right, Fred. Night you lot. And Ron, please refrain from being a wanker."

I smiled to myself while I walked all the way downstairs and saw my dad waiting for me.
