Young Hollywood Is On The Other Line

April 2006

I was very happy with the apartment that Brendon had found. It wasn’t too big and it wasn’t too small. It was the perfect size. It was definitely nicer than my old apartment, and also located in a better part of the city.

“Your room is this way,” he said, leading me through the apartment. I glanced around and recognized a few of my things already placed around the apartment. I guess Brendon had unpacked a bit more than I had thought.

We entered the room that would be mine and I couldn’t help but notice that, again, the majority of my things were already unpacked.

“I hope you don’t mind that I unpacked so much,” he said. “I just needed something to keep me busy.”

“It’s fine,” I said. “I have to say thanks for doing it, though. Unpacking was something I was not looking forward to.”

“That makes me feel better,” he said. “I was worried you were going to get mad at me for touching your things.”

I looked around the room, it was beautiful. There was a closet on the right and I pulled open the door; it was a good sized closet. On the other side of the room, there was a large window. I went over to it and pulled the blinds up that were covering it.

“Oh wow,” I said. From this window, I had a beautiful view of the city.

“I thought you’d enjoy the view,” he said. “I decided you could have this room.”

“Thanks so much, Brendon,” I said, turning to smile at him. “I love it.”

I turned to the bed, which was a queen size and sat down on it, bouncing a little. I looked at the dresser and desk that were also in the room.

“Did this apartment come furnished?” I asked.

“Yeah,” he said. “Save’s us the hassle of finding furniture. Plus I got it for a good deal.”

I nodded my head.

“Well, I really like the apartment,” I said. “Thanks for choosing me as your roommate.”

“I couldn’t think of anyone better,” he said, and we smiled at each other.

I knew I had to call Pete. I didn’t know if he knew that I was in New York now and I needed to see when I could start working.

I used the cell phone Pete had given me a while back to call him. I was surprised it hadn’t been shut off when we had broken up.

“Molly?” Pete said when he answered. He sounded surprised.

“Hi,” I said, suddenly nervous. It felt weird to call him now. “Um, I don’t know if you knew, but I’m in New York now.”

“You found a place to live already?” he asked.

“Yeah,” I said. I didn’t feel the need to mention that it was Brendon that had found a place for the both of us to live. “I was just calling to see when I could start working.”

“Of course,” Pete said. I heard some papers shuffling and what sounded like a drawer being opened and closed. “Can you start on Wednesday?”

“Yeah, that would work,” I said. “Can I get the address?”

After I had gotten a pen and a scrap piece of paper I jotted down the address as Pete gave me the address.

“What time do you want me to come in?” I asked.

“Well, I probably won’t be in until 10, so if you want to come in at the same time that would work,” he said.

“That works for me,” I said.

“Okay, good,” Pete said. “Well, see you Wednesday.”

“Okay, bye,” I said and I hung up.

It was nice to know I had a job, but I wasn’t so sure if I liked the fact that I would be working with Pete.

Anyways, I'd like to thank the 2 people who commented after the last update, Music.DrownLife & rivals are insane. I really appreciate it! And I'd love to hear from more of my subscribers! I know that there are 120 of you!

Sorry this update is a filler and boring, by the way. I'll try and have something happen soon.
