Burning It Down, All the Way to Bat Country

Chapter 19

Corra’s POV
“Oh my god, I still can’t believe Jaz is getting married.” I said to Zack as we were getting ready to go to dinner with everyone. I went to my part of the closet and pulled out a maroon sleeveless top, black flared jeans, and black heels.

“I know right? The shorties are getting married. I feel bad for any future kids, they’re gonna be as tall as garden gnomes.” I laughed and turned around as the door opened and Lynnie’s head poked in.

“Hey guys, just letting you know that we’re leaving in twenty, and we’re going to Olive Garden cuz that’s the only place we could find that would give us a reservation on such short notice.”
“Ok Lynn, thanks for the info.” Zack answered and she waved before shutting the door. He grinned at me before running over and tackling me back onto our bed. I laughed and accepted his kiss before pulling away,
“Zack, we have to finish getting ready!”
“Nooo, let’s just stay here!” He whined, burying his face in my chest. I laughed and stroked his hair for a few minutes before pushing him off,

“Zack, we have to get ready, Johnny and Jaz just got engaged, we need to celebrate, so get your ass up and get dressed!” He groaned before rolling off the bed with a thud and a loud,
“OW!”
“You ok baby?”
“Yeah I’m fine, where did you put my clothes?”
“On top of the dresser hun, now get your ass off the floor.”

Trinity’s POV
Oh my god, I can’t believe Jaz and Johnny are getting married! I was in my room trying to decide what to wear Mistey and Blaze’s mom had come to pick up the rest of the group. I didn’t even know where we were going, which was seriously hampering my ability to decide what to wear so I grabbed my bathrobe and put it on while walking to my dad’s room.

I opened the door without knocking, and immediately turned around and closed it. I walked back to my room, shaking my head to try to rid my mind of the image of my dad and Steph half naked, making out on his bed. Jesus Christ I need to learn how to knock.

I walked over to my closet and picked out a dark blue ruffled top with a black ribbon tied just under the bust, black skinny jeans, and black knee high leather boots that I had stolen from Corra. I was sitting on my bed zipping the boots up when there was a knock on my door,

“Come in.” I called and my door opened, revealing my dad. He walked in and closed the door, clearing his throat awkwardly.
“Listen, Trin, about what you saw,” I held my hand up, cutting him off.
“Dad, it’s not a big deal, I should have knocked. What you do behind closed doors is none of my business.” I stated and he nodded before speaking,
“Thanks Trin, I’m just sorry that you had to walk in on that.”
“Eh, whatever, when ya live in a house filled with relationships, shit happens.” I stated and he laughed and nodded before pulling me up and into a hug. He got a good look at what I was wearing when he pulled away, and frowned, pulling me out of the room and down to the living room where everyone was waiting.

“Guys, am I the only one who has a problem with Trinity’s outfit?” Wait, what?
“What’s wrong with what I’m wearing? I happen to like this outfit.” I said.
“Yeah Matt, what’s the problem? She looks really…wait are those my boots? Girl I have been looking for those you little brat.” I grinned impishly at Corra, who just rolled her eyes and turned her attention back to dad.
“As I was saying, she looks great, even if she is wearing my 1,400 dollar designer boots.” She stated, and all the other girls nodded, while the guys looked deeply unhappy. Brian was the first to speak.

“Honestly Trin, I have no problem with the shirt or the jeans, it’s just those boots. You’re too young to wear knee high, black leather, 5 inch heels. Sorry sweetie. Maybe you could put some flats on?” The other guys nodded, and I sighed in defeat, knowing his request wasn’t unreasonable.
“Thank you sweetheart,” Dad said, kissing my hair and shooing me upstairs so I could find different shoes. I was in my closet searching for my shoes when Corra came to my room,

“Sweetheart, are you almost ready?”
“Yeah, I just need to find my other boots, I know that I put them in here!” I said, flinging some more clothes out of the way.
“What do they look like hun?”
“Black suede, flat, ruched. I swear I threw them in here two days ago!”
“Sweetheart, look by your bed.” I looked over and saw the boots peeking out from under my nightstand and quickly crawled over, yanking them from under the offending piece of furniture.
“Thanks Corra, your boots are by my door.” She smiled and kissed my forehead, grabbing the boots on her way out of my room. I smiled softly as I pulled the boots on and bounded downstairs, skidding to a stop in front of Jimmy in the hall leading to the living room. He grinned and cocked an eyebrow,

“In a hurry kiddo?”
“Who me? I’m not running in the house, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I smiled angelically and just rolled his eyes, leading me out to his car. I was excited, I had never ridden in Jimmy’s baby, a 67’ cherry red mustang.
“So I’m guessing Jasey and Aja went with my dad and the others in the trucks?” I asked, he nodded and grinned.
“But I figured you’d maybe wanna go in the awesome car, I know how much you love the classics.” I clapped excitedly and hopped in, squealing as the car roared to life. I love Jimmy!

Jasey’s POV
I was sitting in the back of Matt’s truck with Aja and Corra, laughing as Aja babbled on about ‘daddy’s horsy car’ and how she wanted to ride in it.
“Mama, is you listenin’ to me?” I looked at her and nodded,
“Of course I am sweetie, but you know you can’t ride in the Mustang, you just have a few more years to wait, ok?” She pouted but nodded, knowing that she wasn’t going in the Mustang for a while. For a 3 year old she was extremely intelligent, and understood a lot more than we gave her credit for. I smiled at my baby, and turned around to look at Jaz, who still had a dreamy look on her face.

“So have you heard back from your mom about when the family is going to be converging?”
“Yeah, she called while I was getting the dressed, the official engagement party is scheduled for May 2nd, so that gives us three weeks to get everything organized. I think all of my sisters are coming, and like eight of my cousins, plus my mom, dad, and brother.”
“That’s exciting, you haven’t seen your family in what? Three years?” She nodded and smiled,
“Yeah, I’m so happy, I miss them. I was kind of thinking about having the wedding in Georgia, in the church that my parents got married in. Do you think Johnny would be ok with that?”
“I’m sure he will be honey, just talk to him about it. I think a wedding in Georgia would be beautiful!”

“Oh Jasey, it’s so pretty in the fall! All the leaves are changing colors, and the rain makes it smell like everything is brand new.” I smiled at her, picturing it in my head.
“I think it’ll be gorgeous love, maybe next fall so you have time to plan everything?” Corra added in.
“Yeah, that’s what I was thing, I don’t want to rush this, I want it to be perfect.” Jaz stated, and we nodded before turning up to the front, I poked Steph to get her attention.
“What do you think about a fall wedding in Georgia?” I asked her, and her face spilt into a wide grin.
“Oh, I went to a wedding in Georgia once, it’s absolutely beautiful! I think it’s a great idea Jaz, what doe’s Johnny think about it?” She asked shyly.

“Oh, I haven’t asked him yet, I just had the idea about ten minutes ago.” Steph laughed and nodded. We talked about random things, not noticing that we had arrived at the restaurant until Matt shut the car off. I really hope these poor people can handle this group, it wasn’t pretty the last time we went out dinner, let’s just say Jimmy regressed back to his toddler days. Two years later and we still weren't aloud in that particular Outback. I walked into the restaurant with the girls and Matt, and smiled when I saw Trini walk in with Jimmy.
"Alright guys, now that everyone is here, can we all *cough*Jimmy*cough* please behave?" Matt asked, and when we all nodded, followed him back to the tables the waiter had put aside. This should be entertaining to say the least.
