Burning It Down, All the Way to Bat Country

BONDING DAY!

Trinity’s POV
“So where are we going?” I asked Kat as we were getting on the freeway.
“We’re gonna go pick my friend Danny up and go hang out on the boardwalk, there’s some amazing little shops, we can get henna tattoos and make your dad think that I actually let you get inked. It’s gonna be so much fun!” I laughed and nodded before grabbing my iPod,
“Do you mind if I plug this in?”
“Not at all, just make it good, and make it loud.” I grinned and nodded, quickly plugging it in and scrolling through my playlists before I found the one I wanted. Kat laughed when DFB vs. Korn came blasting the speakers. I fiddled with her bass until the appropriate level of eardrum crushing thumps could be heard by everyone in a ten mile radius. Twenty minutes later and we were pulling up to a medium sized house in a suburb somewhere in Huntington. I got out of the car, following Kat up the walkway, where she just walked into the door.

“DANNY! WHERE ARE YOU!?” she screamed through the house.
“KAT? What the hell are you doing here?”boomed a deep voice; right before she was tackled to the ground by a very well built man wearing a pair of pajama pants and nothing else. I giggled as Kat squirmed, trying to get out from underneath him.
“Danny, get off the poor girl. Look, your scaring the little one here.”
“Hey! I’m not little, I am height challenged, thank you very much!” I said, crossing my arms in pure teenage ire. Everyone looked at me, blinked, and cracked up. I stood there with my arms crossed, tapping my foot; waiting for the laughter to stop. When it finally ceased, Danny stood up, taking Kat with him.

“Alright sweetie, this is Danny and his wife Trish. Guy’s this is my niece, Trinity. Trish, you mind if we steal your husband for a few hours?”
“Not at all Kat, I was planning on having a girl’s day anyway. Dan, go get dressed.” He snapped a salute and went upstairs, I looked at Trish and smiled,
“Well you’ve got him well trained.”
“That I do Trinity; that I do. Are you hungry sweetheart? I made breakfast.” I grinned and nodded, she laughed and led me into the kitchen where I was soon handed a plateful of eggs, bacon, and pancakes.
“Oh my god I love you!” I said as I ate, I was so freaking hungry.
“Slow down sweetie, your dad will kill me if you choke and die.” Kat said with a laugh. I just grinned and nodded. Ten minutes later I was rinsing my plate off as Danny came bounding down the stairs, talking on his phone.

“Hey do you mind if we pick my nephew up? He didn’t know I was back.” Danny asked, and Kat nodded,
“Sure thing, now let’s get going, where does he live?”
“Over by 81st and Hunt Street.” I knew where that was!
“I know where that is, my friend Mistey lives over there. What’s your nephew’s name?”
“Mitchell.” No freaking way.
“Is he about 6’2”, short dark hair, brown eyes?” He nodded slowly, looking confused.
“What’s his last name?”
“Carson.”
“Dude your nephew is my boyfriend!” I exclaimed, then pulled out my phone to call said boyfriend.

“Hey baby, what’s up?”
“Hi, hey what are you doing today?”
“Hanging out with my uncle and one of his friends. He said he was gonna try to set me up with the chicks niece, I told him I was already taken though.”
“Haha yeah, about that. Turns out he was trying to set you up with me. I’m standing right next to him.”
“No fuckin way! Haha that’s awesome, so we’re hanging out today I guess.”
“Haha yep, so get ready, we’ll be there in twenty.”
“K baby, see ya in a bit.”
“Bye.” I smiled as I hung up my phone, then everyone cracked up as I grabbed Danny and Kat’s hands and dragged them out to the car.
“Come on people, I have a boyfriend to see! Move it, move it. Jesus Christ, you guys were in the Army, can’t you move faster!?” I huffed, they were moving astronomically slow. They just laughed and got in the car, I hopped into the backseat and poked Danny’s shoulder, he turned around and grinned.

“Yes little one?”
“God dammit I am NOT that little! Anyway, can you hand me the iPod?” he passed it back and I selected Hollywood Undead, setting it to shuffle. Danny looked at me funny when the lyrics for Undead came blaring through the speakers.
“What the hell is this?” He shouted over the thumping bass.
“Hollywood Undead, I love them!” I shouted back, and he just laughed and nodded. Twenty minutes later and we were pulling up in front of Mitch’s house, Kat just honked the horn and waited for him to come out. He came running out the front door and slid into the backset with me, giving me a quick kiss,

“Hey cutie, thanks for saving me.” I was so confused.
“Saving you from what?”
“My crazy mom was gonna make me clean the entire freaking house today. And when that happens, it’s like, scrub the floors with a toothbrush clean. It was scaring me.” He pouted, unbuckling so he could lay his head in my lap. I just grinned and shook my head, running my fingers through my hair. He smiled up at me, and I leaned down to press a soft kiss to his lips. He tried to deepen the kiss, but was forced to pull away when Danny threw his shoe at him.

“What the fuck man?”
“Stop doing dirty things in the car. Jesus. You do that in bathrooms, duh.” Mitch just shook his head and flipped him off.
“Alright everyone, out of the car, we’re here.” Kat announce and I bolted out of the car, tapping my foot as I waited for everyone else to catch up.
“Alright missy, time for shopping, where do you want to start?” I looked around the boardwalk and spotted this awesome looking little vintage shop.
“Dude, let’s go in there!” I shouted, grabbing Kat’s hand and running inside. We separated once in the store. I was browsing through the racks when I saw the most awesome dress I had ever seen. It was black with a tulle and crushed satin skirt, and a ripped t shirt like top. I pulled it off the rack and ran to find Kat.

“Dude, isn’t this dress amazing?” I yelled, and shoved the dress in her face, she laughed and took it from me, holding it away so she could see.
“Yes, this dress is amazing, and it would be absolutely perfect with those black ballet flats you have in your closet.” I nodded and grabbed the dress, running away to find more stuff. Twenty minutes later, me and Kat were in a running around the store in the ugly old coats with Danny and Mitch chasing us screaming “The British are coming, the British are coming!” we had managed to get the boys into these old red tailcoats, so we were re enacting the Revolutionary War. We were stopped short when a very unhappy looking middle aged woman stood in front of us.

“Excuse me, but WHAT are you four doing?” Don’t speak Mitch, I mean it…
“We’re researching serial killers and their most effective methods, what does it look like we’re doing lady?” And he spoke. The lady’s frown got deeper.
“I’m going to have to ask you four to leave. I have never in my life seen such disrespect among people, especially with full grown adults around. You should be ashamed of yourselves!” She said, and stomped away. We looked at each, blinked, and cracked up. We were still laughing when we left the store five minutes later.
“Did…you…see her…face? That was sooo FUNNY!” Mitch said, and we all nodded, walking towards the car.
“So where do we wanna go now?” Danny asked.

“Oh my god, I see a candy store, come on!” Kat screamed, and grabbed. Once inside the store, I swear, I thought I had died and gone to Heaven. We grabbed the biggest bag we could find and ran around the store selecting every single type of candy.
“MITCH! CHECK THIS OUT!” I screamed, shoving the bag in his face.
“Woah babe, I think you’re done.” Uh, no.
“No I’m not.”
“Yes you are.”
“No I’m not, there’s still 18 other candies!”
“Baby, you filled a seven pound bag to the top!”
“I know right?! I didn’t think they even MADE seven pound bags! Which reminds me, who are they, and why do they get to make all the decisions?” Mitch just laughed at me before taking my bag and going up to the counter. Wait, he took my candy!
“Nooo, Mitch! I wasn’t done with that!”
“Baby, there is NO ROOM left in this bag. You’re gonna have candy for a month. Now stop it.”
“Fine, whatever. I’m not going to share with you now though.” I stated, grabbed my candy, and skipped out of the store with Kat.

Three hours later and I was coming down from a SERIOUS sugar high. I had run around saying hi to random people, and I gave gummy worms to this little kid who was crying, and I made Mitch give me a piggy back ride to the pier, where I proceeded to pretend I was on the Titanic, I saw Zacky and Corra getting ice cream, so I went over and gave them hugs and took Zack’s, saying that he didn’t need it anyway, and we got kicked out of four more shops because of me, including this stupid tourist shop that didn’t have anything good anyway. I also stood at the corner with a sign that said ‘free hugs’, which was fun till this creepy old man tried to feel me up and Mitch and Danny went postal. So the free hugs sign died. I stayed true to my word though, and didn’t share my candy with Mitch, something he pouted about for two hours. I was currently walking next to Mitch, leaning against his side, fighting to stay awake.

“Ok, I think you were right babe, too much candy.” I mumbled, and he just laughed and picked me up bridal style, cradling me against his chest. I felt him place a kiss to my forehead and smiled,

“Go to sleep baby, we’re taking you home now.” I nodded tiredly and let the sleep take over. What an awesome day.
