Frank was right when he said the band was good. They seemed to put all their heart into the songs they played and the crowd was eating it up like free candy. They literally did when the band threw candy out to the crowd. Frank and I were on the left side of the stage so we wouldn't be dragged into the mosh pit. He kept his hand on my waist as we head banged through each song they played. Once the bands set was over, another band began but they weren't nearly as good as the last. Frank and I abandoned our spots to go backstage so he could set up his guitar and everything.

Frank had a white guitar. It looked old and it was dented and chipped but he treated it like it was his baby. I watched as he cradled it and began to pluck the strings. I watched in interest as he began to tune it. Each pluck changed in sound which fascinated me. I wasn't one for playing music but I liked to sing in the shower.

"Do you know how to play?" he asked but didn't look up.

"I tried and went to a few lessons but it never stuck." he nodded with a small smile.

"I could teach you." he told me. I smiled at him.

"Id like that." we sat there and I watched as he played his guitar for me until it was Pencey Preps turn to go on. Frank grinned and me and kissed me sloppily on the cheek for good luck and he ran onto the stage with the band and they began. I watched from backstage and noticed how Frank changed when he was on stage. When he was playing his guitar for me backstage, it was soft and sweet but on the stage when he performed from the punks, it was loud and rough in comparison, even though his songs were usually slow. I grinned when Frank turned to look at me with an excited grin on his face. He then turned back towards the mic and began to sing and it sounded amazing.
