You and Me Could Write a Bad Romance

The Night Before

Laying belly down in my bed, I listened tiredly as my cell phone rang for the fourth time in less than five minutes. I would've answered it by now if it were on my nightstand, but since it's clear across the room on my computer desk, I've decided to just let it keep ringing. The person calling will eventually give up and try to call me tomorrow, or leave me a bunch of crazy ass voice mails, maybe both.

Suddenly, my phone stopped ringing and seconds later the house phone started to ring. Frowning, I lifted my head for a moment, eyeing my alarm clock. 3:52 am. Dropping my head back down onto my pillow, I rubbed my face with my hand before closing my eyes, trying to get some sleep before I take a road trip up to Oregon with my fiance to meet her Father's side of the family, the more ... judgemental side of the family.

Making loud squeaking sound, my bedroom door opened and my Father stood there in the door way, "Cory, wake up. It's Hallie on the phone."

I growled as I climbed out of bed and snatched the phone from my Dad, "Thanks," I said before watching him walk out. I shut my door before pressing the phone to my ear, "Hallie, You cant wait three more hours?"

"I need you to come pick me up," She slurred, "I cant drive ... I've lost my keys."

Sitting down on the edge of my bed, I rubbed my face, "Are you drunk? Where are you?"

"At that house party we were invited to." She giggled.

"You told me not to go to that because we have an early morning. I listened, then you go off and go party without me!?" I snapped with disbelief, "You told me to stay sober, that meeting your Dad's side of the family with a hangover wouldnt be a good idea."

"Dont scream at me," She whined then huffed, "If you wont come get me, I'll just walk."

"Stay put, I'll be there in ten minutes, wait outside. I mean it Hallie dont leave that place, I'm coming to get you."

"Ok, I love you."

'I love you, too." I replied then hung up on her. I quickly grabbed a pair of pants and tugged them on before picking up my shirt that I was wearing earlier, pulling it over my head. As I slipped my bare feet into a pair of my slip on vans, I grabbed my wallet and car keys from my dresser.

Leaving my bedroom rushing down the hall then down the stairs, I saw my Father sitting in the living room, "Where are you going?" He questioned.

"I have to go pick Hallie up from a party," I answered him truthfully, "I'll be back in a few minutes."

"With Hallie?"

"Most likely." I answered once more before leaving the house, shutting the door behind myself silently. Once I was in my car, I stepped on the gas, speeding through the empty streets of this filthy California town. Knowing the place like the back of my hand, I drove almost absentmindedly, worried about later on today when I'll be arriving at Hallie's grandparents house, where we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving with them, along with two family members birthday parties and Hallie's Aunt's Wedding. Oh yeah, we'll be announcing that our Wedding is sooner than everyone thought it would be. It's in a month, December 29th is the day we wanted to get married, did I fail to mention we're both seventeen?

Well, I'll be eighteen in a week, which I will be celebrating up in Oregon with Hallie. I dont think we'll be doing anything, maybe the two of us will manage to get away for the night.

Hallie and I have a strong, stable relationship. We're madly in love and have been for years. We first started 'dating' in sixth grade, you know back when you'd tell your parents you were just going to the mall or the movies with a bunch of your friends then when you'd get there, you and all your friends would meet up with another group of 'friends' which would be our girlfriends, and we'd all go on a 'date' together. Back when holding hands and kisses on the cheek were the 'in' thing to do.

Junior High went by, Hallie and I stayed together, with the exception of a few break ups here and there, but it wasnt anything major. Once in highschool, we took our relationship to the next level, the both of us wanting to grow up faster than we were. Sex, drugs, booze and music filled my life. Sex, booze and music filled hers. But even through all of our partying, we held a steady relationship, and we both managed to keep passing grades in school as well.

Last year, in junior year, I asked her to marry me. She accepted. Over the summer before senior year, we planned our Wedding. I love her. Hallie is my life. I want her to be the Mother to my children, I want to grow old with her. People always say there's nothing stronger than your first love, and that even though people always break up with their first loves, they never truly get over them, well, why take the chance?

I dont want to know if there's anything better out there than Hallie. She's who I want, I know that no matter what I do, she'll be by my side, right or wrong. I'll be by her side as well, through right or wrong.

Pulling up to the upscale two story house that's crowded with people, I didnt feel like getting out of my car and thank God Hallie listened to me, and waited outside. Once her bright hazel eyes met my car, she hurried as fast as she could down to the street. I reached over, unlocking the door and pushing it open for her.

She climbed in, slamming my door as she did so, "Sorry," She muttered softly, referring to the door. I waited for her to buckle up then frowned, "Did you even drive here?'

"No," She answered, sounding more sober than she did over the phone, "I came with Heidi." She spoke of her best friend.

"Oh," I mumbled, lifting my foot off of the brake and pressing on the gas.

"Are you mad at me?"

"No, but I get permission to fuck you senseless when we get back to my place." I joked, "No making it feel good either, rough and raw."

She laid her head back and looked over at me, "You wouldnt."

"I know," I huffed, "why did you go?"

"I'm nervous. My grandparents are really ... strict. They kicked my Dad out of the house when he married my Mom at eighteen, then refused to be apart of my life because my parents had me when my mom was still eighteen and my dad was nineteen, they're bitter and evil."

"They cant be that bad. I mean you are their granddaughter."

"I'm their only grandchild that they dont say I loev you too because they're convinced I was concieved out of wedlock, plus they forbade my Father to runaway with my MOther and get married, he didnt listen. When they find out that I'm getting married, I'll be completely disowned, the black sheep of the family."

I reached over, running my hand through the back of her hair, "If you're that worried, dont go. Stay with me."

She shrugged, "I need to go, and you need to go too."

"I'm going." I assured her before putting my hand back on the steering wheel, "How drunk are you?"

"Buzzed," She answered then reached over and played with my hair tiredly, "I want to curl up in bed and snuggle with you for three hours then wake up."

I laughed, "Whose car do you want to take?"

"We can take mine, as long as you drive."

"I can handle that."

"My car is more comfy to sleep in." She informed me then fell quiet.

Once back at my house, we went straight up to my room without a word said to my Father who was still in the living room, watching TV. I'm not exactly sure why he's even up, but I think him and my Mother are fighting at the moment.

Taking my shirt off along with my pants, I climbed back into my bed like I was before Hallie called me. Hallie came into my room with a cute smile, "Now you can kiss me and I'll be minty fresh, instead of tasting like rum."

"I'd perfer the rum taste right now." I patted the bed next to me, "Snuggle."

Hallie crawled under the covers with me, then took her place in my arms. "We may or may not have a room together up there." She whispered.

"Seriously? they're going to make us sleep in different rooms?"

"Probably." She nodded, "to make sure we dont have sex."

"If we want sex that bad, different rooms isnt going to stop us."

"I know," She yawned tiredly, then nuzzled her body into mine, "Hold me tighter."

I adjusted my arms around her body then kissed her forehead before she lifted her face a bit, pressing her lips to mine. I kissed back lovingly as I let my hand travel up the front of her shirt. Once I got to where I wanted to be, I grabbed her chest gently.

"Cory," Hallie laughed as she pulled away, "be good,"

"I am being good." I assured as I continued to massage her chest with one hand. Inhaling deeply, she relaxed, not really caring what I was doing. "good night," She whispered.

I stopped my movements then tugged my hand out of her shirt, "Good night," I kissed her softly then settled back into bed, both arms wrapped around her thin frame protectively.

"Hey baby?"

"what?" I asked.

"can you turn the ceiling fan up a bit, its a little warm in here."

"yeah." I nodded then got up, doing as she asked. Once it was done I laid back down, holding her to me once more, "I love you,"

"Love you." She mocked then we both fell completely silent. Five minutes of silence, my body finally decided it was time to try and get some sleep, my eyelids shutting slowly as my grip around Hallie loosened just a bit. I hope Oregon isnt as bad as she says it's going to be.

She's my high school sweetheart, she keeps her red lipstick on. And every morning she wakes up, puts on her make-up and sings my songs.

Yeah, I'm reposting it and finishing it this time.
