I wasn’t exactly what you’d call an optimistic person; but neither was I pessimistic. I never took a side in an argument, and I never had an opinion on anything. I was indifferent. I just didn’t care enough about anything. Not a damn thing.

But my life, which seemed stuck on repeat day after day, was about to change. It was time for the carousel to stop it’s one-way circular ride. It was time for me to step off and join the world once more.

I didn’t want to; it wasn’t my choice. But he made me do it. And I can’t even hate him a little bit for it. Not one damn bit.
