James Owen Sullivan, You Will Be Missed

James Owen Sullivan,

This is a letter I thought I would never have to write, at least in my lifetime. They say the great ones die young. I am not sure if I am more pissed at the fact that God took you so young or the fact that I never really actually had the chance to say hello and to see your beautiful smiling face standing in front of me. I am glad, that as a fan, I had a chance to see your band play live, I am glad to be apart of something this huge. A fan base that I know you would be so proud of, that you would beam with admiration, because we love you with all our hearts and we know you do the same.

Heaven may have gained one of my favorite people, my favorite drummer, and an awesome person all around but now I see that I have gained a guardian angel. Each fan is going to be watched over by you as well as your brothers in the band and your family. If only you could read the wonderful things Papa Gates has said about you.

If only you could read the submissions people have wrote in your memory. God has gained an amazing person. If I know you James, you are taking over right now. I bet you are sitting there telling jokes and reminiscing to other angels about the stallion duck. These things give me comfort, oddly enough, they let me know that you wouldn’t want me or us to be sad. So James Owen Sullivan, I am going to celebrate your life
