Returning to You

Jessica’s POV

I grunted as I dragged Brian into the room as he struggled to get away whining
“don’t make me!” I stopped and huffed
“you promised to go to these with me!” he pouted
“but I didn’t know it would be showing us videos of birth and stuff, I don’t wanna see that!” I shrugged
“you’re gonna eventually now you agreed so you are coming with me” I grabbed his arm and dragged again, he gave one final protest whimper before he let me drag him in.
We ended up sat on the floor on mats with my back supported with pillows as the woman at the front explained about breathing exercises. I giggled as Brian imitated it
“what are you doing? That’s for me to do” I said and Brian grinned
“I’m practicing too, you may break my hand or something from the pain” I snorted
“if I did you would deserve it, it’s your fault I’m having to go through this” Brian chuckled
“you enjoyed it” I pouted but sighed as I nodded
“yeah I did” I spoke like I was so put upon making Brian laugh out loud interrupting the speaker. She glared at us and we both put on innocent faces and she glared a bit more before carrying on. Brian and I giggled a little before listening in.
By the end I think the teacher wanted to kill Brian and I, we had laughed and stuff all through it, making fun of the process and it annoyed the woman though she didn’t kick us out like Brian had been hoping so at the end as we went to leave I smiled at the woman
“see you next time” I said with a wiggle of my fingers, the woman nodded with a scowl and Brian and I left giggling some more.

Brian’s POV

I drove Jess home and went to drive away but she leaned in the window and nodded towards the house
“come in, we can talk for a while” I grinned and nodded before turning off the car and following her up the drive and into the house.
We went and sat on the back porch after grabbing some drinks from the kitchen. The wind was blowing a little but it was a nice breeze in the heat of the day and it felt nice. I liked the way it ruffled Jess’ hair slightly, it made her look softer.
We talked for a while about the baby and discussed different things like names or what we wanted to get for it soon and before we knew it, it was dusk and time for me to be getting home, Jess was really tired and told me how Baby would kick her at times.
During the course of our talk Baby had kicked her twice and both times she placed my hand in the spot and let me feel it. It felt amazing to be able to feel that little thing kicking out at us, letting us know he was there and not to forget him.
As I made my way home I grinned to myself, it had been good hanging out with Jess as I had been doing more and more lately and we were as close as ever now. I knew I was winning her over, it would just take a little more time but I was confident I could get her back.
