Chapter 5

Zack’s POV

I woke Saturday at around 11 o’clock I was tired from the game and all I did was yell. But then again the adrenaline rush didn’t let me go to sleep until 1 o’clock this morning. I stayed up and sketched just about anything my desk, dresser, anything I was kinda bored.

“Zack phone for you.” mom yelled up the stairs

I got out of bed and ran down stairs taking the phone from her.

“Hello.” I answered

“Hey dude what’s up?” I heard Matt on the phone

“I just woke up so not much.” I laughed

“I’ve been up for a little bit and I’m sore as hell.”

“I’d imagine getting knocked into a wall, got beat around all night and then getting cut on the cheek.”

“Yeah not the best, you want to hang out till we head over to Brian’s.” Matt asked

“Sure you want to come over you’ve never really been here.”

“Sure I’ll be over in 5.” he said hanging up

“Hey mom my friend’s coming over.”

“Is he a friend, friend?” mom asked giving me the look

“No mom he’s just my friend I told you before his name’s Matt.”

“I’m not saying anything Zacky, could he possibly be more than a friend?”

“Went over this the other day.” I said as the door bell rang

I walked over to the door and saw Matt standing there smiling showing of his dimples again. He was wearing a pair of shorts and a black t-shirt.

“Hey Zack.” he said I stood to the side letting him in

“Hey Matt.” I said closing the door

“Dang he really did cut you.” I said running my fingers over the cut on his cheek

He didn’t move away like a normal person he stood there and took a deep breath when I ran my fingers over it.

“It’s not that bad.” he said looking down at me

“Are you crazy it looks like it hurts?”

“It’s not that bad trust me.” he said smiling down at me, I pulled my fingers away.

“Zacky aren’t you going to introduce your friend.” mom said coming out of no where

“Ohh sorry mom this is my friend Matt, Matt this is my mom.”

“Hi Ms. Baker.” Matt said

“Call me Autumn.” mom said

“Alright mom we’ll be in my room.” I said tugging on the hem of Matt’s shirt.

“Nice meeting you Matt.” mom smiled as I pushed him up the stairs I turned back as she winked at me I groaned going up the stairs

“Zacky that’s cute.” he said sitting on my bed

“My mom’s always called me that. My dad named me Zackary but my mom nicknamed me Zacky she said it was a lot easier.” I said laying down next to him

“I think it’s cute you look like a Zacky.”

“Yeah more like Zacky Vengeance.”

“Why do you say that?”

“At my old school everyone picked on me for just about everything I did. I told them I was going to prove all of them wrong I told them I would get vengeance before I left to come here.”

“That’s horrible Zack.”

“I have a question for you.” I said

“Ok.”

“Why don’t you talk to any body on the team like Brian?”

“Well I don’t talk to many people if you asked someone they’d probably say I’m dark and mysterious I live in the shadows.”

“Hehe Matt Shadows.” I laughed

“Matt Shadows is too long more like M. Shadows.”

“M. Shadows and Zacky Vengeance funny damn we sound like idiots.”

“No we don’t we sound bad ass.”

“What ever.” I said

“Whoa dude did you draw these?” Matt asked looking at my sketch book on my desk

“What the hell I didn’t even feel you get up?”

“Whoa this guitar is sick looking.” Matt said I got up and looked over his shoulder

“I call it Gynecologist I’m going to have it one day too.”

“Dude you can really draw what’s this?”

“Vengeance University, hopefully if everything works out for me my clothing line.”

Me and Matt looked through my sketch book he commented how great all of them were. After that we went out and played baseball until we decided to go get ready for Brian’s party. We went to our separate houses.

“He likes you Zacky.” mom said as I walked in

“Matt yeah right.”

“Did you see the way he was looking at you Zack? He really likes you I could see the love in his eyes.”

“Mom Matt’s my friend nothing more.” I said running upstairs

I took a shower and walked in my room to get dressed. I pulled on a pair of boxers and black skinny jeans. I dug through my closet finding my Misfits shirt. I blow dried my hair and rimmed my eyes with eye liner. I heard a horn blaring as I was putting my black Converse’s on. I ran down stairs saying bye to mom and ran to Matt’s car

“Damn you take for ever.” he said driving

“Sorry I have to look good.”

“Well you look very good does that work”

“Yes it will.” I smiled

We pulled into a house that had cars parked every where. We got out of the car as Jimmy ran out of the house wearing a kimono.

“Uhh Jim.” Matt started

“I’m no longer Jimmy I am The Reverend Tholomew Plague.” he said and ran back in

“It would be a great idea if one of us stays sober.” Matt said

“Yeah I agree.”

“I’ll stay sober you have a good time at your first Huntington Beach party.” he winked walking in

I walked in and found Johnny sitting out back by the pool. So I went and talked to him the whole time every so often Jimmy would run by scaring us.

“Hey noob have a drink.” Brian said handing me a Jack Daniels I couldn’t say no

“Thanks.” I said

“No prob. everyone’s about to leave so me, you, Johnny, Matt, and Jimmy will be left to chill.”

“It is The Reverend Tholomew Plague.” Jimmy shouted out of no where

“His senses scare me.” I said

“Yeah me too.” Brian agreed

And like he said the once over populated party was now gone and down to us.

“Let’s go for a ride.” Brian said

Matt agreed but he said he was driving. Brian got in the passengers seat while me, Jimmy and Johnny got in the back. We drove through the park the guys called it Central Park.

“I am Synyster Gates and I am awesome.” Brian yelled out the window

After that Matt drove back because he said Brian didn’t need to make a fool of himself.

“Hey I’m going to drive Johnny and Jimmy home stay here and watch Brian ok.” Matt said I nodded

Matt closed the door as he left to take them home. I went out back to have a smoke when I felt a presence behind me. Knowing it could only be one person I put my cigarette out and looked around.

“Follow me Zack.” he said grabbing my arm pulling me so I got up

“Wait did you just call me my name?” I asked shocked

“Of course it is your name after all.” he said pulling me

He pulled me in the house and down the hall way opening a door that looked like his room with all the band posters on the walls. He suddenly turned around and faced me. Before I knew it I had a face full of Brian. I pulled away and looked at him like he was crazy.

“What’s wrong Zack don’t you like it?” he asked

“Uhh.” was all I was able to say before he kissed me again

This time was different this time he pushed me on the bed. He followed me climbing on top of my straddling me.

“You’re really sexy you know that.” he whispered in my ear before nibbling on my ear lobe

“I thought you hated me.”

“I don’t hate you I never have you’re just so cute that I tried to push you away to stop temptations.”

I could obviously tell he was drunk the smell of his breath, his slurring of words. But I didn’t care I loved the feeling of being under him it made me feel amazing. Then he fell off passed out I rolled my eyes and got up covering him with a blanket. I walked out of the room just as Matt was walking in.

“Where’s Brian?” he asked

“He passed out I put him in bed.” I said

“Alright let’s get out of here then.” he said walking out the door I closely followed.
