A Scent From The Past
When I finally woke up this afternoon I had an urgent message from Amanda wanting me to stop by tonight. This was odd considering how she told me that she needed her space from me. I wondered what changed her mind.
I decided not to let it bother me. I would go and visit with her and see what she wanted. I hope that she has been resting since she has been released from the hospital.
I went and picked me out something to wear for tonight. After all, I was a vampire slayer and maybe not a true one as my sister but a slayer non the rest. I have been slacking and I need to make up for it.
Ian is in town and I just have to be careful. I think I have decided not to run from him. Pete encouraged me to fight and that he would be there for me when we first met. Things I guess have changed but he is right that I should stay. It is time for me to start taking responsiblity for my actions and stop hurting the ones I love.
A few hours went by and night fell. I left my place as soon as it got dark. I made my usual rounds hoping that maybe I would catch Pete as I used to do. I missed him. This was killing me what I have done to him the more I think about my actions. Amanda was right about everything she had said about me. It has made me think and realize where I want my life to be. I don't want to be alone anymore as I always felt, especially after Ian turned me.
I ended up killing some vampires around the entertainment district but not as many as I had hoped. I looked at my watch and even though it was early I still decided to go ahead and show up at Amanda's.
I was about to catch a cab when I smelt a familiar scent. A normal human wouldn't be able to smell it but I can with my abilities. This scent is from my past. Whoever is wearing it is far enough away from me to where I cannot tell if they are a vampire or not. The scent of cologne I am smelling used to be worn by Micah.
He can't be here in town. Why would he be? If he wanted me as much as he did, he would not have let me leave him, my family, or he would have found me alot sooner. No, that has to be someone else. Maybe it is a guy taking his girl on a date and just happened to wear the same cologne. After all this is the part of town people flock to for dancing, dinner, and a movie.
