"IT'S SOMETHING ABOUT HIS WORK. HE LIKE, GOT TIRED, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT."
"OMG THAT'S SO SAD. I HOPE HE WON'T QUIT HIS ACTING!"
"OMG AND HIS SINGING! I'D DIE IF HE'D DO THAT."
"OMG ME TOO!"

I sit still on my chair, overhearing every little word the girls were saying.
I turn to face Renn.

"That's so stupid of him to do that."
"I guess."
"He's one crazy 17-year old guy. I mean, crashing through a window just to escape from his work? Seriously."
"Hey, don't say that. What if he really needed to do it?"
"Hmm. I won't care. I don't even care. Why should I?"

Renn sighs and shakes her head.

"Oh, Alice. You can be really stubborn at times."
"I know. Sorry."

We both leave school, the questions embarked into our minds.

How did he manage to find a place to hide?

I reach home and enter my house.

"I'm home!"

No one replies.

I wonder in thought and run up the stairs.
I knock on my parents' door.

"Mom? Are you in there?"

Nothing.
Still no answer.

I head to Simon's door and knock.
He opens the door and looks at me.

"Alice. What do you need?"

He was still wearing the same clothes.
Whoa.
He didn't make me laugh.
For some reason.

"Where's uh... mom?"
"She had to attend to a reunion, I think. Or was it a seminar...?"
"Oh, okay, never mind. Thanks, anyways."

I slightly bow and go to my room.
I close the door behind me and begin to drown in a sea of curiosity.

He seriously looks like Seth Paver.
I mean, those light gray eyes...

I begin to connect Simon being my "long lost cousin" and Seth's escape.

He must be Seth Paver.
All those gossip about him running away from work... and not finding him...

I swing my door open and run towards Simon's room.
Without bothering to knock, I just open the door like crazy.
