You Leave Me Breathless

Help

[Trinity]

Peyton and I have both been working tonight. It’s quite a hectic night actually, loads of rowdy drunk guys in. It’s just one of those nights that I’m glad for the bar having two security guards, Bruce and Phil. Big, ugly, scary-looking and heavily muscled. Perfect.

“Hey darling, Is your father a lumberjack?” a guy slurred as I pulled a pint

“No, why?" I asked boredly

“Because whenever I look at you, I get wood in my pants,” he smirked

I rolled my eyes, handing him his drink.

“That’ll be $4.20,” I said with a fake smile

“Keep the change, babe,” the man leered, handing me a $5 note

I grimaced as he walked away. Gross. Then again, tonight has been full of guys like that. Even poor little Matt has been hit on by both genders. I turned my head as I heard shouting start.

“What happened this time?” I asked Peyton

“Some guy split his drink on another guy,” Peyton shrugged

“Great,” I grumbled

The shouting continued, and I groaned as one guy punched the other. Out of nowhere, both their friends joined in, starting a massive fight. Bruce and Phil ran over to break it apart.

“Tori, Kim, go out back, one of you call the cops. Matt, Trinity, Peyton, man the bar,” Drew ordered, jumping from our side to the customers side

“What are you doing?” Tori demanded

“Bruce and Phil can’t break it up on their own,” Drew shrugged

“Then we’re coming too,” Peyton said firmly

Drew looked like he was about to protest, but then we heard a glass smash, and he just turned around. Peyton grinned at me, and I grinned back, hopping over the counter. Luckily I wasn’t wearing jewellery tonight and my hair was tied back.

“Be careful,” I yelled to Peyton

“You too!” she yelled back

I started pulling guys off the floor and away from the fight, seeming to surprise them with my strength and the fact that I’m a girl.

“Hey, back off bitch,” one guy grunted, shoving me

I narrowed my eyes and clenched my fists.

“Bad mistake,” I spat

Calling on my karate training from all those years ago, I executed a series of punches and chops that winded him, made him double over, then made him pass out.

“Hey!” his friend protested

I panicked as a broken pint glass was thrown at me, lifting my left arm to protect my face. As it broken on my elbow, I cried out in pain as the glass entered my skin, blood pouring down my arm.

“You dickhead!” I shrieked

I punched that guy so hard that he fell to the floor unconscious. Then Bruce appeared next to me.

“Woah, Trinity, are you okay?” he asked, wincing at the sight of my arm

“Not really. Is Peyton okay?” I groaned

“She got stabbed in the thigh with a broken glass,” Bruce admitted

“Where’s the ass that did that?” I growled

“Phil got him outside, and he’s now in the back of a cop car. Come on, there’s an ambulance here,” Bruce told me

“I’m fine,” I protested

“You’ve got glass sticking out of your arm and you’re bleeding badly. You’re not fine,” Bruce said firmly

“Fine, I’ll see a medic,” I grumbled

All I wanted to do was see Peyton. I hope she’s okay.

[Peyton]

I sat boredly on the edge of the hospital bed, my legs hanging off the edge as the doctor hand-stitched the cuts in my thigh. It hurt like a bitch, but I was determined not to show my pain. It turned out that Trinity’s injuries were a bit worse than she thought, as some of the glass hit her bone, and the bone splintered. She’s in another room, having to get the bone fragments removed from her arm by hand before they do any major damage. I can't imagine she's in a good mood at all.

“There you go, all done,” the doctor smiled

“Thanks,” I said gratefully, happy that I was wearing a pair of short shorts so that the stitches didn’t get touched

“I’ll go check on your co-worker Drew now,” the doctor said, standing up

“What’s wrong with him?” I frowned, slowly getting off the bed

“He’s got a nasty cut above his eye, but he’ll be alright. A few stitches will do the trick,” the doctor explained

“Oh, okay. How’s my sister?” I asked worriedly

“She’ll be finished any minute now. Apparently she put up quite a fight,” the doctor chuckled

“Sounds like her,” I laughed

I walked slowly out of the room and into the corridor. Tori, Kim, Connor and Matt were all sitting in the corridor waiting.

“Hey guys,” I waved

“Oh god, we were so worried! Are you okay?” Kim said quickly

“Yeah, I’m fine. Just a few stitches,” I nodded

“What about Trinity? And Drew?” Tori asked

“Trinity’s getting bone fragments removed from her arm as well as glass, and Drew is getting stitches for a cut above his eye,” I explained

“Shit,” Matt grimaced

“I don’t want you or Trinity at work for a week. You need to heal,” Connor ordered

“But Connor!” I whined

“No, I’m not having you back at work till you’re healed. Besides, it’s going to take a few days to clean up and fix the bar,” Connor said firmly

I grumbled under my breath but nodded. Then I heard running footsteps and turned my head to the left, groaning.

“You called Mikey and Frank?” I hissed softly

“They’re your boyfriends! They deserved to know!” Connor shrugged

“Big mistake,” I sighed

Mikey reached us first, panic on his face.

“Where’s Trinity? Is she alright?” Mikey babbled

“She’s in a room down the hall, and she’s fine,” I said with an eye-roll

Mikey took off down the corridor. Then Frank reached us.

“Are you okay?” he asked, concerned

“Let’s go and see Drew!” Tori said pointedly to the others

Everyone left, till it was just me and Frank in the corridor.

“I’m fine. Just a few stitches,” I shrugged

“I can’t believe you got into a fight! You could’ve been seriously hurt!” Frank said worriedly

“I get into fights all the time! And besides, we were helping out the security guards. Total dickheads started a fight and we jumped in. Trinity and I have been given a week off to heal though,” I said simply

“You still shouldn’t have fought. I was really worried about you,” Frank said softly

“Yeah, well, I’m fine,” I muttered, crossing my arms over my chest

Frank sighed and stepped forward, wrapping his arms around me. I was tempted to stay annoyed, but I couldn’t help relaxing against his shoulder. He smiled and kissed the top of my head, before pulling away.

“Mikey nearly passed out when he got the call, by the way,” Frank snickered, resting his hands on my waist

“Mm, let’s hope Trinity won’t bite his head off for being overprotective,” I smiled

I winced when a series of familiar curses sounded from the end of the hall.

“Never mind,” I sighed

Frank just chuckled and kissed my forehead, before taking my hand and walking down towards Trinity’s room. I guess we’d better save him before Trinity eats him alive.

Couldn't resist getting my girls in a fight - they haven't had one for a while!
Is it cute that Mikey was so frantic about Trinity? Or clingy?
And is Peyton starting to give in too easily to Frank?
