Dark Days, Bright Nights

Oh, I Won't Kill You...

"P-please don't k-kill me!" He stuttered

"Oh, I won't kill you," Ravir grinned widely, "No, what I will do to you is the one thing you fear the most!" He finished, lunging forward and biting the side of Carlos' neck. Instead of draining blood, he injected a venom into his vein, that would turn him into his greatest fear- A vampire! He walked out of the room, leaving Carlos writhing in pain. He had more important things to do- Like finding a cure for the poison that corrupted Elena's body.

"Where is that antidote..." He mumbled to himself, searching through a cupboard of potions and ingredients, many of which had been used to fool people into coming to the castle so that the vampires didn't risk stepping out into the burning sunlight to catch their prey. He searched for an hour, before realizing that they didn't have the antidote.

"Well. I guess I'll just have to make it myself!" He exclaimed, agitated. Strolling into the library, he scanned the shelves until he found the right one.

"Bat anatomy, Best Blood Types, Hell-styled Hair- Ah! Custom Cures, here we go!" He said, pulling out a book and flicking through it.

"What?! A sample of the poison, and hair from the person who fired it?! But... he's a vampire now! There's no way he'll save Elena... unless I make him!" He concluded, slamming the book shut and running back to where Carlos lay unconscious on the velvet carpet. Yanking his head back, he pulled some of his hair from the back of his head and searched through the bag for the poison darts. When he found them, he carefully poured the poison into a glass phial and dropped the hair in too, which caused a small, pungent smelling cloud of violent blue gas to burst from the top of the phial. Holding his nose, he walked into his room where Elena was resting on his bed. He quickly poured the foul substance down her throat, hoping it would clear the orange blotches appearing on her face. Orange had always been too bright for him to look at. She coughed and her eyes snapped open

"What was that?!" She gasped

"The antidote for the vampire poison that almost killed you!" he answered

"Really? I thank you then, brother, I owe you my life!" She said, standing up and pulling him into a tight embrace.

"Think nothing of it, sister, for I have a surprise you might enjoy!" He grinned evilly

"Show me!" She insisted. He lead her into her room, where Carlos lay. "You killed him?!" She gasped

"No, dear sister, he has become a vampire!" He announced, spreading his arms in triumph

"Well then, my darling brother, he is in for a very long afterlife!" And with this, they threw their heads back in a vicious laughter that echoed off all the walls of the castle that they would now live in forever.
