It is the year 2200, and the American governement has become obsessed with the idea of a 'perfect nation'.
For Nick Bray, a teenager holed up in 'Area 52', it's the only life he's ever known, and he doesn't think much of it. Sixty million people holed up into an area that used to be Texas with out of control security, not being allowed to have kids and being killed if they rebel - it's almost like a modern version of the Holocaust. but it's all for the greater good, right?
But when another boy captures Nick's heart, his view changes. Meeting Joe, he has to decide what's worse - a place where sick people are locked up like wild animals, or the society that put them there.
