Parallel Worlds

Christina walked over to the fridge to get a glass of milk, throwing a tissue at Duckie on the way; she could feel everyone’s eyes on either her or Duckie, she tried to block it out. She sat down at the kitchen table between Duckie and Ed who looked at Christina with a concerned face before wrapping his arms around her and kissing her gently on the head.
“You ok?” He whispered quietly in her ear, Christina just nodded. The whole room was silent, their eyes all on Christina and Duckie still. Finally someone spoke up
“… Are you ok Christina?” Sarah asked Christina curiously. Dan, who was standing behind Sarah with his arms snaked around her waist, looked from Christina to Duckie expectantly. Christina sighed angrily
“Yeah I’m fine, its nothing” Christina looked across at a still upset Duckie and smiled at her reassuringly
“Erm… we heard shouting… what’s happened?” Nicola asked looking up from the Kerrang magazine she’d been previously reading. Christina looked from Duckie to Nicola, how could she explain why she was shouting at Teddy so loudly? Christina sighed
“… Teddy managed to spill Duckie’s skittle supply everywhere” The room went silent
“Is that seriously why you were shouting at him?” Vikki asked with a bemused look on her face, Christina put on a fake smile
“Well you know what Duckie’s like without skittles, she needs them! Duckie just got a bit upset that he’d done such a thing, isn’t that right Duckie?” Christina looked at Duckie who nodded in agreement. Jessica burst into fits of laughter
“Fair enough. Poor Teddy, bet he didn’t mean to”
“Oh I bet he did” Christina mumbled under her breath as the normal volume in the house resumed and everyone got back to what they were doing.

Soon after, a very ruffled Becca and Alex walked into the kitchen smiling and sat down at the table next to each other; Becca snuggled into Alex. Ed sniggered and looked at Alex
“Rough night?” Alex looked up at Ed and shook his head
“Don’t start” he replied, Ed smirked
“Well it must have been, all I’ve heard all night is your bed rocking” Christina burst into laughter at Ed’s remark, Becca glared at Christina
“I think you’ll find, Ed, that that bed rocking was in fact your own bed!” Becca smiled smugly at Christina, quite proud of her quick comeback. Alex giggled at Becca’s comeback and kissed her cheek “good one.”
“Yeah well it wasn’t us. It cant have been cause I’m still ‘unfit’ to be able to engage in such activities” Christina smiled back at Becca, Becca laughed
“Yeah well that wouldn’t stop you” Christina paused
“… Yes that’s true but still, I’m too innocent anyway”
“Yeah right” Becca snorted just as a rather tired, ill-looking Ali walked into the kitchen and sat down putting his head on the table. Dan spotted Ali and laughed hysterically
“What’s got into you Ali? You look a bit tired” Ali looked up at Dan sourly, Lucie giggled
“God Ali you’re such a lightweight! It isn’t as if we kept you awake all night… we did give you an hours sleep!” Ali lifted his head off the table and looked at Lucie
“Yeah but I don’t appreciate having my top stolen and then being tied to the bed and tortured” The room burst into a roar of laughter. Harley placed a video camera on the table “we’ve even got video evidence” Ali’s eyes widened as his eyes fell upon the recording device, a big smile crept across Harley’s face
“Blackmail!” she said quickly before diving off her seat and pelting out of the room with Ali chasing after her, the rest of the room continued to laugh loudly. Duckie got up out of her seat quietly and walked towards the hallway, Christina turned round
“Are you ok?” She asked her
“Yeah” she replied quietly, it was unlike her to be quiet; “I just need to… go and talk with someone” she turned and walked up the stairs towards her room where Teddy still was.
