I Like the Way You Wear Those Faded Blue Jeans

*Zora’s P.O.V*

I spent the next 4 days at home with someone checking in on me every once in a while. Steve spent the nights with me. Jay said that on Sunday I would have to go to the doctor and if the doctor gave me the all clear I was aloud to start on cases again. Even then I don’t think I’ll be leaving command central. Also I was told by Jay that I wasn’t aloud to have a party because he didn’t want me over working my self. All in all I felt useless.

It’s now Friday night and I’m bored. I had already watched TV read a book and brushed me teeth. With nothing left to do I decided to crash early which happened to be a really good idea. I climbed into bed and pulled the doona over my head before falling asleep. The next morning I was woken by Steve placing a trail of kisses down my neck.

“Go away” I mumbled
“Get up I have a surprise for you” Steve said
“Come back in an hour and try again” I mumbled into the pillow
“Please get up” Steve sighed
“The person you are trying to reach is asleep please leave a message and they’ll call later” I said
“That’s it don’t say I didn’t warn you” Steve said

He got up and left the room. I snuggled back down and was just drifting off when two big arms wrapped around my small frame. Steve picked me up and carried me down the hall. He turned into the bathroom and dropped my in a tub of ice cold water.

“Good your awake now dry off and get dressed I’ll be waiting in the lounge room” Steve smiled before walking off
“He is in so much trouble” I grumbled climbing from the tub

I grabbed a towel from the cupboard on the way to my room. I removed my wet PJ’s dried off and got dressed. I was feeling rather bubbly despite being thrown in a bath tube of cold water. I decided to wear my rainbow skirt, pink striped socks, neon Tinkerbell shirt, my pink fingerless gloves, a rainbow colour choker, rainbow heart earrings and I pushed my hair back with a very colourful head band. I grabbed my black strap shoes and head to the lounge room.

“My aren’t we colourful” Steve smiled
“At least I’m not the guy who ended up wearing a fluffy hat, girly colored boas and necklaces in New Orleans” I said
“Who told you about that?” Steve asked serious
“Give me a D, give me a U, give me a S, give me a T, give me a I give me a N what’s that spell” I danced
“Dustin” Steve shook his head
“Brian told Dustin and Dustin told me” I said

Just the there was a knock at the front door. I bounced over to door to open it.

“Wow I think I’m blind” G said covering his eyes
“It’s good to see you too dad” I rolled my eyes
“So what are you two up too” Jay asked walking in side
“I was just about to take Zora out” Steve said
“Oh okay well do you mind if I use your toilet we’ll lock up on our way out” G smiled
“As long as you put the toilet seat down when you’re done” I said looking at Steve
“What did I do?” Steve asked
“You know what you did now come let’s go” I said
“Okay see you guys later” Steve said
“Bye” Jay said
“Bye” Grant said dashing for the bathroom

I walked out laughing. But I had one question on my mind. Where is Steve taking me?

*Grant’s P.O.V*

I dashed down the hall to the bathroom, saying bye to Zora as I went. I went to the toilet before walking back down the hallway to the lounge room where Jason was watching TV.

“If I am correct we are setting up a party” I said hands on hips
“Yep going” Jay said standing up “Do you mind if I use your toilet?”
“What I had to go” I said
“I guess when a mans gotta go his gotta go” Jay said
“Right now what first” I asked
“All teams go” Jay said into the walkie talkie

Soon enough everyone was in side.

“Okay Kris, Amy you got the cake” Jay asked
“In the car” Amy said
“Go get it” Jay said
“Tango I want you to get the dinning room table and move it across to that wall and put all the presents on it” Jay said “Kris I want you to collect everyone’s food items as they arrive and set it up”
“On it” Kris said
“Grant you go get the decorations for the van I’ll start calling and get the other here” Jay said
“Going” I said

I shoved my hands in my pockets and walked to the car. I grabbed the bag of decorations and headed back to the house.

“Hay Grant” someone said
“Hay Georgia” I smiled
“Grant I would like you to meet my husband Tony” Georgia said
“Hi nice to meet you” Tony said extending his hand
“Hay man nice to meet you too” I said taking his hand and shaking it
“These are our 7 children our 4 daughters, Morgan, Tanya, Sophie and Haley” Georgia said
“Nice to meet you girls I’m Grant” I smiled at them
“And these are our 3 sons, Jordan, and the twins are Harley and Spencer” Georgia said
“Nice to meet you boys” I said “Come in side we have some setting up to do”

Georgia and her family followed me inside. I went over to Jay and started with the decorations. Things were going smoothly people started to arrive, Tango was collecting presents, Kris was collecting food, and Amy was placing out food as it was handed to her. Jay and I had the decorations up; everyone was accounted for except for Tanog. He forgot to get Zora a present so he had to take off and get one. We were all sitting around waiting for Steve to call and let us know they were on there way home. When the phone did ring it was Tango not Steve.

“They are one there way back” Tango said
“How do you know?” I asked
“They just walked out of the Arcade and to Steve’s car” Tango said
“Where are you?” I asked
“I’m on my way back” Tango said
“Hurry” I said
“What did Tango say” Jay asked
“His on his way back and so are Zora and Steve” I said

My phone rung again and this time it was Steve.

“Hay man” I said
“Hay dude I’m heading back to Zora’s do you need us because we’ll detour if we have to” Steve said
“Nice man we are ready” I said
“Okay cool see ya later then” Steve said
“Bye” I said “Everyone hide”

We all found places out of sight. Jay and I were behind the couch, Kris and Amy behind the bench, Tango came bursting through the door and ran into the cupboard, Keith, Carl, and the kids where behind the dinning room table, Dustin, Georgia and Kristyn where against the dinning room wall, Bruce and Tony were beside the TV cabinet, Jay’s wife Kris, and Reanna where hiding in front of the arm chairs. The front door cracked open and Zora walked in.

*Zora’s P.O.V*

“That was great fun thanks Steve” I smiled
“Says the girl you won every game she played” Steve said
“I told you I was the master” I smiled
“What ever” Steve said flicking on the light
“SURPRISE” people jumped out from every where

I stood there staring at everyone. I blinked before turning some what mad.

“WHO’S IDEA WAS THIS” I yell
“Jay did it” G said hiding
“Me it was your idea” Jay said

I ran at G tackling him.

“You’re the best” I smiled
“You’re not mad” G said
“No” I grinned

I gave G a big hug before getting off him. I ran around hugging everyone even those I didn’t know. I had an idea of who they where. I stopped looking around I felt like I hadn’t hugged someone. I went through who was in the room before realizing who was missing.

“Where is Tangelo?” I asked
“I’m in here” Tango banged on the cupboard door
“How did you get locked in there” I asked
“I don’t know” Tango said

I jumped on Tango giving him a big hug. Even though Tango was somewhat new to the TAPS family he fit right in with the insanity. Tango and I are like brother and sister. If there is one thing everyone says about me and Tango it's that we are nuts.

“LET’S PARTY” I yelled

Before long I was tangled in Steve. We were sitting on the couch me on Steve’s lap kissing. You could hear all the kids going gross or cooties. It was quite funny a few times Steve and I laughed. Jay laughed at it and so did Grant. I looked around the room at all my friends. And everything they had done for me. I sighed and looked at the ground.

“Babe what’s wrong” Steve asked
“I was just thinking about all youse did for me” I said
“We all love you and we wanted you to be happy on your birthday” Steve smiled
“But why do you care about my birthday” I asked
“Because it’s your day and you should feel special” Steve said
“Wish my ex knew that” I whispered
“What did he do?” Steve heard your whisper
“He sent me a card on my birthday and written in side was I don’t love you like I use to I’m moving on I hope you can too” I sighed
“Forget him you have me now and beside I’m much better then that guy” Steve smiled
“Come on birthday girl time for you to huff and puff and blow those candles out” Tango said
“For a minute there I thought you were going to say…”
“Steve children” I cut him off
“Oh right tell you later” Steve smiled

I was forced to sit at the table while Kris and Amy disappeared into the kitchen. They returned seconds later with a huge cake. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

“Is that Dracula, Frankenstein, Freddy Kruger, Jason Voorhees, Hannibal Lector, Jigsaw, Chucky, Sadako Yamamura, Pennywise, Pinhead and Ghostface in one cake” I said
“I was told they where your top ten favourite horror movie villains” Amy said “I told Kris and she baked the cake”
“Sorry Steve I’m in love with Kris now” I smiled
“That’s okay I’m in love with Tango” Steve countered
“WHAT?” Tango yelled spiting out his coke
“Jokes Tango” Steve and I said
“You had me scared for a minute” Tango said
“This cake is amazing Steve go get my camera I need to take a picture of it” I said
“Okay” Steve said
“This must have taken you forever” I said to Kris
“It took a few hours to get the pictures after that it was easy” Kris said
“Oh man this is the best cake ever” I said
“Here is your camera” Steve said sitting down again

I took the camera and took a whole bunch of pictures of the cake. After I took the pictures Amy stuck some candles in the cake while Jason lit them. Ever one sung happy birthday to me while I sat looking like a tomato. I blew out the candles and watched sadly as the cake was cut. Once everyone had there slice of cake I was pulled into the lounge room.

“Let’s open the presents” my little sister Morgan said
“Yes let’s start” I smiled
