I Like the Way You Wear Those Faded Blue Jeans

Steve and I went to bed not long after. We where both tired and we both had to be up in a few hours to have a breakfast briefing on our next case taking place that night.

Both Steve and I were up at 9:00 and down at breakfast by 10:00. Jason and Grant were already down there so was Tango and Andy. Donna was over ordering her breakfast and Brian was no where to be seen.

“Uncle J where’s Brian?” I asked
“Still asleep most likely do you want to go get him?” Uncle J said
“On it boss” I saluted and ran off

I could hear Grant and Steve laughing. I ran up stairs and started banging on Brian’s door.

“Go away” Brian wined
“Uncle Jay’s looking for you” I cooed
“I’m up” Brian said
“Good hurry up and get down stairs” I called

I took off back down stairs were Uncle Jay and Grant were deep in conversation, Donna was slowly eating and Andy was poking his food like it was the enemy. I walked over and sat down next to Steve.

“So what are you having of breakfast” I asked
“I ordered for the both of us I hope you don’t mind” Steve smiled
“Depends on what you ordered” I smiled
“I got us two bagels with cheese and bacon I believe that’s your favourite and two cups of coffee” Steve said
“Ah wise choose in deed Mr. Gonslaves Cheese and Bacon is in deed my favourite how did you know that” I asked
“Your uncle told me and never call me Mr. Gonslaves again it’s a bit weird” Steve said
“Right oh Steeve” I said
“No” Steve said
“Right then Steveo” I said
“Just call me Steve” Steve said
“But babe I don’t want to” I pouted
“You don’t need a special name for me” Steve said
“But I hate it you can cut my name down to Zor and I can’t cut your name down” I said
“Why cut my name down anymore then it is” Steve smiled
“Wait your name is Stephen so I guess I don’t need to cut it down” I said
“Hay Stephanie come over here” Uncle Jay called
“What are they talking about” I asked
“I’ll explain later” Steve said getting up

Steve walked over to Uncle Jay and Grant. They all started talking they were to far away so I couldn’t hear what was being said. Steve walked back over to me and smiled.

“So what was that about” I asked
“The Europe thing they wanted to know if I’d go this time and I told them I’d try” Steve smiled
“I know you will” I smiled

Just then a man walked over with our breakfast.

“4 beagles cheese and bacon and two cups of coffee” the man said
“Yep that’s us” Steve said

The man placed our food on the table and walked off. I looked at the food for a few minutes before digging in. When I was done there was more food around me then in me I think.

“You sure know how to make a mess” Steve laughed
“That’s not my fault” I said
“Maybe you need to learn to eat” Steve said
“I’m getting better trust me” I said
“Hay Zora can we talk” Grant called
“Sure G” I smiled

I got up and walked away with Grant. He seemed nervous like he wasn’t sure where to start.

“Zora I need to talk to you about Steve” Grant said
“Okay” I said
“I know Jay told you that we think he is good for you but we want you two to take it slow” Grant said
“We are don’t worry” I said
“Also I want you to come to Europe even if Steve can’t” Grant said
“Why?” I asked
“Because I want you to meet someone” Grant said
“Is this you or Uncle J talking” I said
“It’s me okay I think it’s about time I told you something I should have told you along time ago” Grant said
“Tell me what” I said
“I know you’ve said that I’m like an uncle to you but being the youngest member of TAPS and being a girl I feel protective of you” Grant said “I guess to me your more so like a daughter then a niece”
“Really well since we’re tell truths then I only told people you were like an uncle to me because I thought if I said you where like a father to me not only would uncle Jay kill me but I thought people may get the wrong idea” I said
“I think we should talk with your uncle” Grant said
“Okay” I said

Grant and I walked over to uncle Jay who was busy finishing off his coffee.

“Uncle J can we talk” I asked
“Of course we can sit down” Uncle J said
“Well Grant and I have talked and we have both decided we have a daughter father relationship” I said
“You Grant she does look like you” Uncle J said
“Really you think so” Grant said
“Yeah she has your brown hair and brown eyes” Uncle Jay said
“Really you mind if we ask for someone else’s opinion” I asked
“Go ahead” Uncle J said
“Steve come over here” I called
“What’s up” Steve said
“Do I look like Grant” I asked
“Yeah you have his brown hair and brown eyes” Steve said
“Oh okay I’m going to fix this” I said

I took off up to my room and grabbed my laptop. Return back down stairs I placed the laptop on the table and brought up some software I had down loaded that tell you how you look most like. I pulled up a picture of my father and a picture of Grant then a picture of me. I adjusted the pictures and hit the button to start the process. A few seconds later I was told I look 3% more like Grant then I did my own father.

“Now how does that work” I said
“You got me” Grant said
“Wow wait do that again” Steve said

I redone the test and sure enough I still looked more like Grant.

“Okay that’s just weird right there” Uncle J said
“Change the pictures” Grant said

I changed the pictures but still got the same results.

“This is going to have me thinking for awhile” I said
“You know Grant maybe she is you daughter” Uncle Jay said
“Wait try your mom” Steve said

I got a picture of my mom and a picture of Grant and started the test.

“Well now that’s interesting” I said
“Your 8% more like Grant” Uncle Jay said
“Okay I vote blood test” Steve said
“Hay Donna, Andy, Tango come here” I called
“What’s up” Tango asked
“Do I look like Grant” I asked
“Yeah a little why” Andy asked
“Well this program told me I look more like Grant then my own mother and father” I said
“I call blood test” Donna said
“Fine” I said
“When we get back home we will” Grant said
“Anyway the case” I said
“Ah yes a private residence” Uncle Jay said
“Reports of a phantom smell, stuff moving on there own and one apparition” Grant said
“So when do we go” I asked
“After Grant and I do the reveal on Captain Grant’s Inn” Uncle Jy asked
“So I guess we should get ready while you do the reveal” Brian said
“Finally you show your face” Uncle Jay said
“And yes that’s right” Grant added
“Okay let’s go” I said

We all got up and left while Brian went to get breakfast.
