Scream Me a Dream

Chapter 34: Nothing to Talk About

“I think electric blue is perfect.” Soya said as Ville changed out of his shirt.

“Hmm?” Ville asked, turning around.

She wiggled her toes and fingers at him, causing him to smile. “Electric blue.”

“Very perfect.”

Soya frowned at him and laid her chin on her knee as she watched him. He had come into the room a few minutes after Missy had left, somewhat dazed and had been distracted ever since.

“Something is bothering you.” Soya said, causing him to look back at her.

“What?”

Soya shook her head. “Something is bothering you.” She repeated.

“Oh, no” He hesitated, “You know…not really.”

“Those boys must have said something to you.” Soya started off the bed. “I’ll go ask.”

“No!” Ville laughed, grabbing her around the waist. “No, I’m fine.”

They both froze and seemed to look at the same place at the same time, Ville’s hand that was resting on her bare hip where her shirt had ridden up. Ville swallowed hard and dropped his hand just as Soya took a step forward out of his arms.

“I should go brush…my teeth.” Soya said slowly, a frown marring her face as she left the room. Ville stared at the door with his own frown.

“Who the fuck moved away first?” he muttered, thinking about that brief second where they had moved. Had his hand dropped first, allowing Soya to move? Or had Soya taken the first step forward, prompting his body to move his hand off her? He sat on the edge of the bed staring at the carpet underneath him, cursing his friends.

Had they not made him realize that every movement that he and Soya had made, were not purely innocent like he’d believed them to be, then he wouldn’t be overanalyzing the one simple touch. Then again, why would Soya have stepped away from him in the first place?

“She wouldn’t have.” He groaned, now wondering if he had made the situation awkward by letting her go first or if Soya had had the same type of talk with Missy as he had had with the guys.

XxxxxxX

Soya stared at herself in the mirror, suddenly unsure of herself. Had she taken the step forward first or had Ville dropped his hand first?

“Ugh!” she groaned, covering her face with her hands. All that was running through her mind was Missy’s voice telling her that Ville was attracted to her, and the proof Missy had for the statement based on the last forty-eight hours.

All Soya could wonder was if what Missy said was true. Did Ville look at her in a different way than he looked at others? If so, was it because he liked her as a woman, and not just because she was one of his friends that he hadn’t seen in thirteen years?

“This is why I don’t date.” She muttered as she washed her face. All the what if’s, all the awkward conversations and awkward movements. It was a dance she didn’t know the choreography for, and she wasn’t comfortable with that.

Ville, as her friend, was comfortable. Ville, as a potential boyfriend? As a potential lover? It was not something she was familiar with, leaving her in unknown territory, with no idea on how to proceed.

The thoughts whirled in her head, causing her to groan again as she dried her face. She was getting a headache just thinking about what every touch and every word meant, all because his hand had touched her hip, just like it had a hundred times before.

Leaving the bathroom, she went back to the room, hesitating slightly at the door, only to roll her eyes at herself and open it.

Ville was just getting into bed as she walked in, closing the door behind her and smiling lightly at him before walking to her side of the bed and grabbing her cell phone, setting the alarm.

“What time do you leave tomorrow?” Ville asked, laying his head on the pillow.

“Eight. I have to be at my lawyer’s office by one.” She said, making sure the time was set right on her alarm before getting under the covers. She leaned over and turned off the light, only to lie on her side away from Ville, as she felt him turn on his own side facing away from her.

Ville stared at the wall trying to figure out their actions. Never once had they slept away from each other, usually they relied on how they used to sleep when they were on Linde’s couch, which was as close as possible. Mostly because Soya had learned quickly that if they weren’t holding on to each other while sleeping on the couch, she would usually be the one toppling off.

He felt Soya turn in the bed, only to turn back and sigh. Closing his eyes, he tried to go to sleep, only to find that he couldn’t; it didn’t feel right, at all. Rolling over, he found himself face to face with Soya who was staring at the covers.

“I can’t sleep.” She whispered, looking up at him. Without thinking, he wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer, his leg wrapping around her own, so she was anchored to him.

Soya rested her hands on his chest, her fingers automatically tracing the Heartagram that circled his nipple before biting her lip as she looked up at him.

“Why is tonight so awkward?” she asked dropping her finger.

He opened his eyes to look down at her and released a breath. “I don’t know.”

Soya sighed as she thought about telling him what Missy had told her, but knew that she would never be able to formulate the words. Biting her lip, she looked up at him as he stared down at her, and she came to the realization that, much like her last night in Finland, she was going to have to build the courage. At least, she thought, if this didn’t end well she could always kick Jyrki out of his room and sleep with Impi.

Her hands reached up between them to cup his cheeks gently, before she pulled herself up and placed her lips on his, and just like she had thirteen years ago, she moved her lips timidly against his. Just as she was about to pull away, she felt Ville’s hands cup her own cheeks to keep her in place, his lips moving with hers causing her to gasp in surprise as his teeth nipped at her lower lip.

Ville rolled onto his back, bringing her with him, so she straddled him, her hair falling in a curtain around them as he brought her down again so their lips met in fervor. Her hands still cupped his cheeks, while his hands had found their way to her hips, holding her tightly in place.

She pulled away, kissing his cheek and making her way down, her lips skimming just below his ear. “En…tuntuu…en voi hengittää.”(I…feel like…I can’t breathe.) She whispered; her breathing erratic as she rested her chin on his shoulder.

He knew he was going to regret asking, but his brain hadn’t quite caught up with his mouth, when he asked. “Mikä tama on?”(What is this?)

She pulled away, looking down at him. He watched as she bit her lip, nearly causing him to groan as her thumb came and brushed his bottom lip. “En tiedä.”(I don’t know.) she admitted.

He took her hand away from his mouth, interlocking their fingers as he leaned up; bringing his knees up to cradle her between his knees and chest, before kissing her again. Her legs moved around to wrap around his waist as her hand let go of his and ran them through his hair, her nails running lightly over the base of his neck causing a shudder to run down his spine.

His own hand tangled in her long hair, keeping her in place as their lips moved against each other, her breath hitching when his teeth nipped her upper lip, while his other hand had found its way under her shirt to rest at the small of her back. He twisted them around so she was resting on her back, with him cradled between her legs.

He pulled away, needing to feel more of her, taste more of her, as his lips skimmed down kissing her neck as his hands ran up her sides. He moved the neck of her shirt, kissing her collarbone, causing a quiet moan to escape her lips.

Ville felt his body tighten as he heard the moan, the fact that he was the only man to not only have heard that moan, but the only person to have found the spot to cause that moan, turned him on more then he thought possible. Wanting to hear it again, he nipped lightly at her collarbone, causing that quiet moan again and her fingers to dig into his sides. The action of her fingers digging in, caused his hips to involuntarily buck against hers.

She gasped his name, making him look up, his green eyes meeting her darkened grey. While he saw the desire in her eyes he also saw the hint of fear mixed in. Breathing deeply, he rested is forehead against hers, their breathing heavy as they both tried to calm themselves and regain control.

“Anteeksi.”(Sorry) He whispered.

“Se on hyvä.”(It’s fine) she whispered back, her hands running through his hair.

“No, it’s not.” He said, shaking his head as he rolled them back to their sides, their heads resting on the pillows, though he had her tucked at his side.

She stroked his cheek, and couldn’t help but give a quiet laugh. “Yes, it is.”

“What just happened, Soya?” He asked.

“And here I thought I was the virgin.” She teased, causing him to groan and rest his head against hers.

“Soya.”

She met his dark green eyes and bit her lip. “I don’t know.”

Ville sighed. “What do you want to happen?” Ville looked down and watched as she bit her bottom lip before giving a shrug.

“I don’t know.” She admitted.

“What don’t you know?” He asked, wanting to know if she had the same thoughts running in her head as he did in his.

“I just…” she shrugged never breaking eye contact with him. “I leave in the morning.”

“You do.” He nodded.

“You leave next Saturday.” She pointed out.

“I do.”

If we were to take this further, that’s even if you were thinking about that, how would it work? I’m here, you’re…there.” She said. “How?”

Ville kissed her forehead. “Then we don’t decide anything now.”

“Now?” Soya asked with wide eyes.

“Now.” He nodded. “Once both our lives get settled again, we’ll talk about it again because believe it or not, I am thinking about further.”

Soya rested her forehead against his chest and bit her lip. “Just…”

“Just what?” he asked with a frown.

She swallowed, before looking back up at him. “Just don’t hurt me.”

Ville stared at her in disbelief only to shake his head. “Trust me when I say I wouldn’t hurt you kulta.” He leaned down and kissed her softly. “Really you have the power to hurt me.”

Soya stared at him and ran her thumb over his bottom lip. “Never.” She whispered before snuggling closer to his side and closing her eyes. Ville took a deep breath, before holding her tighter and closing his own eyes before falling asleep easily with her in his arms.

6:43am

Jyrki cursed when he heard the pounding at the front door, hating that the bedroom Bam had given them was within hearing range. He looked at the clock on the nightstand and groaned when he saw the bright red six glaring back at him.

He carefully moved Impi away from him as he got out of bed and went to open the door, knowing no one else would either hear it or come down to answer. Pulling the door open, he glared at the blonde man standing at the door.

“What?” Jyrki asked.

“Holy fuck.” The blonde muttered with wide eyes.

Jyrki frowned. “Who are you?”

“Josef.” He answered. “I’m here for…”

“Soya.” Jyrki nodded, opening the door wider and letting him in. “She said you wouldn’t be here until eight.”

“I’m not supposed to be.” Josef answered adjusting the bag strap on his shoulder. “But I thought she should start the day right,”

Jyrki frowned. “What’s the right way of starting a day?”

Josef lifted the camera bag that was hanging over his shoulder. “With the filming of an episode of ‘The Soya Show’.” Josef smirked.

Jyrki nodded in understanding, having seen a couple of the videos with Rosalind. “Of course. Well, I’ll show you her room.”

“Thanks.” Josef said, following Jyrki as they climbed up the stairs, not being able to help watching the way Jyrki moved up the steps or how tight the man’s ass was. “Truly criminal.” He muttered, casing Jyrki to look back.

“I’m sorry?”

Josef smirked, having no qualms repeating himself. “It’s truly criminal how nice of an ass you have.”

Jyrki raised an eyebrow. “You are truly Rosalind’s friend.”

“Most of the time.” Josef admitted. “Really, you’re swinging for the wrong team, but,” Josef laughed. “If you ever get tired of girls, just know my bed is large and lonely and you’re more than welcome.”

“I’ll keep that in mind.” Jyrki laughed with a shake of his head. “This is them.”

“Them?” Josef asked with a raised eyebrow as he opened his bag.

“Soya shares a room.”

“With whom?” Josef asked, already having a good idea.

“Ville.” Jyrki answered.

“Amazing, simply amazing what the girl will leave out of a conversation.” Josef muttered, leaving the bag on the floor in the hallway after getting his video camera out, before quietly making his way inside the room. Jyrki, curious as to what was about to happen, watched from the doorway, only to raise an eyebrow at the couple on the bed.

He’d known that Ville and Soya had been sharing the bed, but had assumed they’d picked a side and stayed there. Apparently, he couldn’t have been more wrong. Both Soya and Ville were so wrapped up in each other that it was difficult to tell where one started and the other one ended. Ville practically had her cocooned in his arms while Soya seemed to welcome the tight embrace.

“Interesting.” Jyrki muttered with a raised eyebrow.

“Isn’t it?” Josef asked as he set the small camera on the floor and kneeled by the nightstand and, as quietly as he could, he changed the time on the clock forward two hours so that it read eight. He picked the camera back up, turning it on before pressing record and moving in as close as he could so that the lens was inches from Soya’s face.

Jyrki shook his head in amusement as Soya groaned, only to bury herself deeper in Ville’s arms.

“Get the damn camera out of my face Josef.” Soya groaned, knowing exactly who was on the other side of the lens that was inches from her face.

“You have to wake up.”

“Just because you got here early, doesn’t mean I have to do anything.” Soya muttered against Ville’s chest. “Get it out of my face, before I break it….again.”

“Come on, Soya, just smile for the camera.”

Without any hesitation, Soya reached over and grabbed Josef by the back of the head, gripping his hair and pulling.

“Ow! Ow! Let go! Let go! I worked hard on my hair this morning!”

“Turn it off!” Soya said trying to get to the camera in his opposite hand, while Ville pulled her closer.

“Stop moving.” Ville groaned.

“Turn it off Josef!”

“It’s off! It’s off!” Josef yelped as she pulled harder. She let go and went back into Ville’s arms.

“Go away.” Soya said waving her hand in dismissal “Let me sleep.”

Josef rolled his eyes, but kept the camera recording as he said. “It’s eight.”

“No, it’s not.” Soya said. “I set my alarm for seven, it has yet to ring.”

“It’s eight Soya, you must have set the alarm wrong.”

Soya blinked and looked up from Ville’s chest as he continued to sleep. “No, I didn’t”

“It’s eight.” Josef said pointing towards the clock on the nightstand.

Soya twisted around, looking at the clock only to gasp and pull away from Ville. “Damn!” She yelped jumping out of bed causing Ville to groan.

“Where are you going?” He asked, looking up with half open eyes.

“I’m late!” Soya told him, grabbing her clothes off the chair she’d put them on the night before along with her towel. “Let me shower quickly and we’ll go.” She told Josef before leaving the room as fast as she could, passing Jyrki with a quick good morning.

Ville groaned and grabbed his cell phone off the nightstand, only to roll his eyes. “When she realizes that the time is wrong, tell her I expect her to come back to bed.” Ville said, before laying his head back on the pillow. “Oh and tell her to wrap that damn ankle.”

“And cut!” Josef laughed, turning the camera off. “Best episode yet!” he rubbed the back of his head as he sat at the edge of the bed. “Most hurtful too.”

“I’m not going to get back to sleep am I?” Ville muttered into his pillow.

“I don’t think so.” Jyrki laughed having been thoroughly amused by what had just happened.

Isi!” A little voice rang out around the house.

Josef looked up and grinned. “Impi?”

Jyrki waved at the bottom of the steps. “All yours.”

Josef left the room with a grin to get the little girl. Jyrki walked into the room and sat on the side of the bed, smirking at Ville.

“What?” Ville asked, peeking his eye open to look at Jyrki.

“I didn’t realize that you and Soya slept so close together.” Jyrki said.

Ville shrugged and closed his eyes again. “Old habits.”

“Old habits?” Jyrki asked slowly.

“During our rehearsals, when Linde and Mige were late, we would sleep on the couch, if we didn’t sleep close, Soya would fall off. Why are you up here?”

Jyrki grinned. “Answered the door for Josef, showed him the room and stayed.”

“Oh.”

“So did you think about what we said last night?”

“Jyrki, it’s to fucking early for this type of conversation.” Ville groaned.

“Ow! Damn!”

They both looked up to see Soya limping into the room. “What happened?” Ville asked.

“Stubbed my toe.” Soya groaned. “Stupid door.”

“I would look at this.” Ville said handing her his cell phone.

“I don’t want to look at anymore of Mige’s dirty texts.” Soya said, pushing the phone away. “One was enough.”

“It’s not a text.” Ville laughed, “And I already apologized for that.”

Soya rolled her eyes and looked at his phone only to groan. “That bastard.” She muttered setting the phone back on the nightstand and climbing back into the bed, allowing Ville to hold her again.

“I see I’m not wanted here, so I’ll be downstairs.” Jyrki laughed as he left the room, about to close the door only to turn back and look at them. Without thinking, they had resumed their previous position.

Shaking his head, he closed the door, if they hadn’t talked or admitted how they felt about each other the night before, it was definitely a conversation they were going to have soon.

“Would you like to tell me why Soya is putting crutches in the car?” Josef asked Ville later that morning, as Jyrki helped Soya put her suitcase in the trunk of Josef’s car.

“She hurt her ankle.” Ville told him. “There was a bit of an accident and she twisted it.”

Josef sighed and looked over at Soya who was smiling at Jyrki as he talked to her. “How bad?”

“Ed, the medic that checked her out, said that as long as she kept off of it, it should be fine.”

“Meaning I now have to make sure she actually keeps off of it.” Josef looked back at Ville. “Any MRI’s?”

“X-rays.” Ville nodded. “But Ed has them and he’s sending them to Bam and no one else.”

“Soya told you.” Josef stated, though disbelief colored his voice.

“I don’t agree with what she’s doing, but I understand it. Bam will keep them safe.” Ville assured.

Josef nodded. “If you trust him, then I will as well. Just remind him that if those x-rays end up in Rebecca’s or Ben’s hands Soya and I are both fucked.”

“I will.” Ville nodded.

“Soya tells me you’re coming to the showcase on Friday.”

Ville nodded. “That’s the plan. Missy wants to see all the dances and Bam seemed just as interested as I am to see Dead Lover’s Lane.”

“Quite an amazing performance,” Josef nodded. “Soya worked very hard on that one, though she might retire it after the summer.”

“Why?” Ville asked with a frown. “If she’s worked hard on it, why not share it?”

“Because the class she taught it to all leave for college at the end of summer. She doesn’t like holding her classes to the same standards of the previous class. As a teacher that sees your students grow up, you see that they tend to set their own standards. She doesn’t want to teach her new class ‘Dead Lover’s Lane’ not because they’re not good enough, but because it’s not for them.”

Ville nodded in understanding, amazing at how well Soya could read her students. “Hey, The Soya Show.” Ville said quickly, while Soya was distracted.

“You want the password.” Josef said with a laugh.

“I was wondering if I could have it, yes.” Ville nodded.

“If it were up to me, you would already have it.” Josef admitted. “But it is the one thing I tend to listen to Soya to. It took me forever to convince her to let me post the videos in the first place.” Josef looked over at Soya as she started walking back with Jyrki. “The password isn’t as hard as you may think it is, the condition was to have a password, I didn’t make it difficult. Trust me when I say you can guess it in three.”

Ville smirked. “Any limit at guesses?”

Josef shook his head. “You have ten tries before it locks; again I didn’t make it hard.”

“Good to know.” Ville laughed.

“Ready?” Soya asked Josef as she reached them.

“I am, are you?”

Soya nodded, “Everything’s in the car.”

“Say goodbye to everyone?” Josef asked.

“I didn’t want to wake Bam or Missy, but I left a note on the counter for them for when they wake.” Soya admitted. “I gave Impi a kiss goodbye and said goodbye to Jussi as well.”

“Well then, we’re the only ones left.” Jyrki said, giving her a hug. “I hope to see you again, Soya.”

“I doubt Rosalind will allow another six years to pass.” Soya laughed, hugging him back. “I wish you the best on the rest of the tour, and the best of luck with Impi.”

Jyrki laughed as he let her go. “Thank you sweetheart, now I’m going back to bed.”

“You know I have a couple minutes to spare…” Josef added with a wink.

Jyrki laughed. “I think it’s best if I go alone, after all, you wouldn’t want to face Rosalind’s wrath would you?”

“I think alone would be best.” Josef said, taking a step back. “I’m going to go wait in the car.”

Soya nodded as Jyrki gave a final wave before leaving them alone at the doorway.

“I’ll see you on Friday.” Ville said bringing her into his arms, as she wrapped her arms around his waist, her fingers resting on the small of his back.

Soya nodded. “I know.”

“Call me when you get home?” Ville asked, resting his chin on the top of her head.

“I will.” Soya nodded.

“I’ll see you Friday.” Ville laughed, pulling away slightly to look at her. He brought his fingers to her chin and tilted her face up to look at him. “Six days.”

“I know.” Soya laughed. “I know.”

Ville leaned down and kissed her lips softly, pulling away only to have her follow him, causing him to chuckle and kiss her one more time. “I have no idea how I’m going to sleep without you.” He whispered against her lips.

“You’ll figure something out.” She whispered back. “I have to go.”

“I know.” He kissed her one last time, before pulling away completely. “Friday.”

“Friday.” She nodded before turning and walking to the car. She gave a small wave, Ville returning the gesture, before she disappeared into the car and it backed away.

“So, can we talk about it now?”

Ville turned to look at Jyrki, before looking back at the black car that was making its way down the driveway, disappearing from view.

“There’s nothing to talk about Jyrki.” Ville sighed, his head thumping against the doorway. “Nothing at all.”

And done…..

No! I’m just kidding :-p There it is, the moment you all waited for, definitely hope it was worth the wait! Thank you all for the comments on the last chapter, and for those of you who ended up helping me with my speech. I might end up doing it on Monday, so send me good vibes on Monday!! :D

Anyway, I’m doing things a bit differently this post. Next chapter is admittedly a filler and will be up on Monday. So because of the filler, no preview.

BUT

For everyone that comments, I will answer one spoiler for you. Ask me anything you want to know and I’ll answer it to the best of my ability that doesn’t ruin the whole plot line lol.

Also, I’m working on a little future scene, and I had a question. Knowing what you do about Rosalind [Soya’s friend], what would you want to ask her. I want any and all questions.

Anyway, can’t wait to see what you guys come up with for you questions and next chapter will be up Monday!
