Boyfriend's Ex Best Friend

Boyfriend's Ex Best Friend Chapter 10

The last couple of weeks have been hectic.
I haven’t seen much of Matt or Josh.
I have a little part time job as a waitress. Lynn, Danni and Max are also working there. We could all use the money.
Two months have passed and things seem to me going good.
It was a Friday evening and the guys and I were hanging out together, all except Maya.
She had a test to study for.
The guys and I were joking around and laughing.
Alex and Jerry were telling jokes and the rest of us were on the floor laughing.
My stomach was hurting me and tears were streaming down my face.
I’ve never laughed this hard in my life.
My phone buzzed in my pocket.
I reached for it as I whipped the tears from my eyes.
It was a text from Josh.
I smiled and read it.
‘Hey Vi, it’s Chloe, I bet your wondering what your boyfriend has been up two for the past couple of weeks. Open the link to find out.’
After a few minutes of battling weather or not to open it, I reluctantly pressed opened.
It was a video of Josh and Chloe. Kissing.
They looked pretty into it.
They were in Josh’s dorm, so I know it was recent.
Tears fell down my cheeks unwillingly.
I didn’t know who or what to believe.
I looked down at the ring that Josh gave me when we were in high school.
He won’t hurt me like that.
This was Chloe’s doing.
Right?
“Vi, are you okay?” Matt asked.
“Yeah,” I lied. “I laughed too hard,” I said whipping the tears away.
“Don’t lie to us,” Max said taking my phone.
I tried to take it back but she gave it to Alex.
He read the message out loud for everyone to hear and watched the video.
“Violet, Josh wouldn’t do this,” Jerry said
“I want to think that,”
“He loves you. Look at the ring on your finger,” Alex said.
“Talk to him,” Max said.
“I will. Later,”
“No!” they all said.
I sighed. I knew they were right. Why fight them?
I took my phone away and walked to my dorm.
I dialed Josh’s number and it was busy.
I tried three more times after that and nothing.
I didn’t even want to think what he was doing.
I sat on my bed and tried again.
Nothing.
Tears came in my eyes again.
I lied on my bed and hopped he will call me back or something.

(Matt’s Point Of View)

The guys and I went our separate ways. The girls stayed in the lounge and the guys and I went to cheek on Violet.
She seemed heart broke.
I don’t know Josh’s side of the story but I know he wouldn’t hurt her. But if he did. I’ll beat the shit out of him.
I opened the door to Violet’s dorm.
I heard soft sobs coming from her room.
I closed the door and walked to her room.
I lied next to her and wrapped my arms around her waist.
Violet rolled over and rested her head on my chest.
I whipped her tears away and held her close to me.
I didn’t say anything. I just held her and hopped her tears would stop.
After a while she stopped and cuddled closer to me.
“How are you?” I whispered.
“I don’t know,” she sighed.
“I’m sorry, Violet,”
“You didn’t do anything,”
“I know but, I don’t like seeing you like this. I want to make you smile again,” I whispered the last part in her ear.
Violet looked up at me with her beautiful purple eyes.
“Matt,” she whispered as we leaned in closer to each other.
Our lips brushed and my heart raced.
I leaned in a little more to press my lips against hers, but she backed away.
“No, I can’t. Josh was faithful to me,” she said sitting up.
I watched her whip away her tears and dial Josh’s number.

(Violet’s Point Of View)

The phone rang twice and Josh answered out of breath. “Hello?”
“Josh?”
“Hey Violet, what’s up?”
“You tell me,”
“Huh?”
“I got a text from Chloe telling me that you are cheating on me,”
“I would never do that, you have to believe me,” I could hear the panic in his voice.
“I do. I just wanted to make sure. I love-”
“Joshy, get back in bed,” I heard Chloe say.
My heart skipped a beat.
“Who was that?” I asked slowly.
“No one,” he said quickly. “Love you,”
“No! Josh, don’t lie to me,” I said as tears formed in my eyes.
“It’s nothing,”
“You’re lying to me. That’s Chloe isn’t. If you wanted to go back out with her you could have told me, instead of cheating on me,”
“Violet-” Josh tried.
“I don’t care what you say, because me and you are over,” I as I said that the phone dropped from my hand and I fell to the floor, in shock.
Did I mean that?
My breathing quickened and I started to shake as the tears fell.
I could hear Josh yelled my name trying to explain.
Matt came over to me and wrapped his arm around me.
I cried on his shoulder.
He was shaking too.
I looked up at him and saw that he was tearing up too.
“Matt are you okay?” I asked.
“No, I hate seeing you like this,”
“Don’t cry,”
“But, Vi, I can’t help it,”
I hugged him and he hugged me back tightly.
“I love you and I promise you I will never hurt you,”
Matt whipped my tears and kissed me slowly on the lips.
I pulled away and hugged him again.
