Boyfriend's Ex Best Friend

Boyfriend's Ex Best Friend Chapter 16

I paid the taxi man and quickly got out of the cab and ran inside the hospital.
“Frank Meyer,” I said. “I’m his daughter,”
“Room 418,” said the nurse behind the desk.
I hurried to my father’s room and walked in.
My mom was sitting with Daniel and Kara sleeping in her lap.
She looked over at me and smiled. “Hi,”
“Hey, how is he?” I asked.
“He’s fine, just sleeping. I was waiting for you,”
I smiled at her as she got up and hugged me.
“I missed you,”
“I missed you more,”
My mom laughed and pulled away from me. “How’s college?”
“Great,”
“You can tell me all about on the ride home,”
“Deal,” I said as my dad opened his eyes.
“Violet,” he smiled slightly.
“Dad,” I said walking over to him.
I bent over and hugged him. “How are you?”
“I’m fine, honey, I should going home soon. I have another killer story to tell you,”
I laughed. “Dad…”
“Come on, you love hearing these stories,”
“I know, but I could have lost you,”
“I know, but you know I’m not going down without a fight,”
I laughed as my mom came from behind me. “We should go,”
“Bye honey,”
“Bye,” mom and I said.
They kissed each other and I picked up Daniel and my mom got Kara.
We walked to the car and strapped the babies in.
I talked about college and life at home without me.
When we got home I called Matt.
“Hey,” he said. “How’s your dad?”
“He’s fine,”
“That’s great, Vi,”
“Yeah, I know,”
“I’ll see you when I get back, it’s late, you need your rest,”
“I’ll hold you to that. When are you coming back?”
“In a few days,”
“Okay, see you then. Love you,”
I paused for a moment. I bit my lip and sighed, quietly. “I love you too,” I meant it.
I love Matt.
“Bye,”
“Bye, Matt,” I said hanging up.
“Matt?” my mom said. “I thought that was Josh. What happen to Josh? I liked Josh? Since when do you love Matt?”
“Josh and I broke up weeks ago, we had trust issues, so I ended it. Matt and I got together recently,”
“Why didn’t I know?”
“I don’t know, I guess, I was embarrassed,”
“About?”
“Everything,”
“Understood, honey. Go to bed,”
I smiled. “Thanks mom,” I said as I walked up stairs to my old bed room.
It’s good to be back home.
