Boyfriend's Ex Best Friend

His food spilled on the floor as we collided.
“I’m so sorry,”
“It’s okay,” he said.
I looked up at him and gasped.
It couldn’t be…
“Violet?”
“Matt?”
“Yeah, what are you doing hear?” he smiled.
“I go to school at the University of Florida,” I said
His smiled turned into a grin. “Me too,”
“Really? That’s great! I haven’t talked to you in forever! How are you?”
“I’ve been good, what about you?”
“I’ve been great. You have really changed since high school,”
“Really?” he laughed.
“Yeah, you’ve gotten taller, your hair got lighter, longer…” I trailed off looking at him.
He had changed enough for me to hardly recognize him. He had gotten taller and his hair had gotten lighter and longer. He seemed more muscular than I remember.
“You know you’ve changed a lot too,” he said
“Really?”
“Yeah, you hair grew out, you got older, your eyes just give you away,”
“Yeah, it was nice seeing you again,” I said
“I’ll see you around,”
“Yeah,”
We waved to each other as we walked away.
“I’m back,” I said sitting down next to Max.
“Who were you talking to?” he asked.
“Yeah, he was cute,” Max added.
“A friend from high school, Matt,” I said looking at Josh.
“Matt’s here?” he asked.
“Yeah, I couldn’t believe it either,”
“Where is he?”
“I’ll show you, you coming?” I asked Max.
“Hell yeah! He’s hot!” she said getting up quickly.
We laughed as we walked over to Matt.
“Hey Matt,” I said walking up to his table.
“Hey Vi,” he said smiling.
“Whoa, Violet?” asked one of his friends
“From high school?” asked another.
“That can’t be her,”
“She was just a little sophomore then,”
“And this girl was way too hot to be our little Vi,”
I smiled once I finally realized who they were. “Alex? Jerry?”
“The one and only,” Jerry said as they got up.
I gave them a huge hug. “I haven’t seen you boys in forever,” I said
“I know,” Alex said giving me another hug.
“You guys have changed a lot, why is everyone changing,”
“You changed too,”
“Not much,”
“Who are your friends?” Alex asked.
“This is my room mate Max,” I said pointing to Max.
“How can you guys forgive about me?” Josh said pretending to be hurt.
“Josh man!” they said together and gave him a man hug.
“Josh?” Matt said standing up.
“Hey brother,” Josh said as they did a hand shake.
“What are you doing here, man? We haven’t talked in forever,”
“Yeah, I know, I’m visiting my girl,” he said wrapping his arm around me.
“The happy couple,” Jerry said smiling.
We all laughed.
“We just wanted to say hi,” I said
“We’ll see you later, Vi, and I’ll talk you later Joshua,” Alex said
“Yeah later man,” Jerry added.
“Bye,” we all said as we walked back to out table.
We finished our pizza and I said good bye to Josh.
We were going to met each other for lunch, tomorrow.
Max and I walked up to our rooms talking about the guys.
I thought about Matt. It was really weird that we were going to the same college.
I just hope what happen in high school was behind us.
