The Beast and The Harlot = ?

Part 7

We collapsed on to the bed, gasping as Brian laid his head on my sweaty chest.

I ran my fingers through his hair as I tried to catch my breath.

I felt him press his face deeper into my chest and I smiled.

"I miss this." Brian murmured.

My smile widened and I pressed my lips to the top of his head.

"Me too." I said.

Brian held me tighter as the force of my laughter shook us both.

"Why don't we do something this week?" Brian asked.

My eyes widened in shock.

"What's wrong?" He asked, alarmed by my reaction.

"Nothing, I'm just surprised." I said.

"Why?" Brian asked, looking up at me.

"Never mind. What are we gonna do?" I asked with a smile.

Brian pulled away slowly and looked into my eyes.

"What's wrong?" He asked softly, his face creasing with worry.

His concern had me chocking back tears.

I didn't answer, only looked at him.

How can I tell him what I'm feeling with out hurting him?

I decided to take the easier route.

I lied.

"Just tired. You're right, that was way better then I remember." I said with a laugh.

Brian grinned like a little kid on Christmas day.

"You know what they say, practice makes perfect." He said with a sly smile.

"I have heard that somewhere." I said nonchalantly, trying to hide excitement.

Brian rolled us over so I was now straddling him.

"Let's see if it's true." He murmured pulling my face down to his.
