He's My Brother's Best Friend and My Enemy, This Can't Be Good!

The first thing we did after arriving to our hotel was walk to the nearest In n Out. It was only a mile from our hotel but it took us twenty minutes to get there. It was so worth it though. I have never felt so satisfied from eating a burger, the boys were in heaven.

“I’m not returning home until Massachusetts gets an In n out,” Max complained.

After finishing our meal we headed toward the start of the Hollywood Walk of Stars. It was so surreal being in California. Along our walk we passed the iconic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and I couldn’t help but snap pictures. I was so focused on taking pictures of the buildings that I hadn’t even noticed we were walking on the Walk of Stars.

“I didn’t know Mickey Mouse had a star,” Ave said. Her and Max were walking hand in hand a few feet in front of me, Jayden and Miranda in front of them.

“He’s Mickey Mouse!” I said astonished by her lack of knowledge. I ran over to the star to take a picture of it. Parker chuckled from behind me.

“You’d think you were Lexis by your excitement,” He joked.

I ignored the comment and we kept walking. We now found ourselves in front of the historic El Capitan Theater. Now I was really freaking out. This was the theater for Disney premiers. I gave my camera to Ava so she could take a picture of me standing in front of it. In the picture my hands were outstretched above my head, my face was priceless.

After walking for a few more minutes we crossed the street to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe. I couldn’t help but think of Cassadee and Trevor. This was her type of restaurant. Every waiter and waitress in the place had crazy hair and tattoos, it was great. We were currently sitting in a circular booth. Parker and I on opposite ends with the two couples in the middle. We let conversation fill the silence.

“I can’t believe we are in California but you guys won’t take me to Disneyland,” I complained. How could they bring me all the way out here and expect me not to realize that we were only an hour away.

“We spent all Thanksgiving at Disneyland,” Jayden noted.

“We spent Thanksgiving at Disney World. Disneyland is different,” I retorted. Jayden just shrugged his shoulders. I knew I wasn’t going to win this argument, it was a lost cause.

“We’re going to Universal though,” Parker chimed in.

I rolled my eyes. “Universal studios is not Disneyland.”

Our food was shortly served and we ate in silence. Max being true to his word order a sandwich instead of a hamburger. He had no intention of eating a hamburger every again unless it was from In n Out. After lunch we headed back out onto Hollywood Boulevard. We walked past the Dolby and Chinese Theater. The girls and I kept stopping in the little souvenir shops on the street irritating the boys. They were stupid if they honestly thought we weren’t going to buy stuff. I ended up with an I heart LA sweatshirt and a few other little things, mainly for Lexis.

It was now around three o’clock and the six of us decided that we wanted to go into Universal Studios. The park closed at six but we figured we could get everything done in three hours. We hoped in a taxi and headed that way. Once we bought our tickets we attempted to create a game plan. Since the park is multileveled the goal was to accomplish everything on the first level before moving on, but really Jayden and Parker were calling all the shots.

The boys took off for The Simpson ride so the rest of us followed suit. It wasn’t too crowded considering it was later in the day. The line was also very interactive. You felt like you were Krusty Land. After waiting in the line for ten minutes it was our turn to ride. It was four to a row with two rows in the cart. Since Miranda didn’t want to be split up from Jayden her, Jayden, Parker and Max rode in the front with Ava and I behind them accompanied by another couple.

“You sure you want me to sit with you?” Ava whispered before the ride started. She was afraid that I was mad at her for not letting Parker sit back here with me. I just smiled at her shaking my head.

The ride was fun. It was a simulator which made it that much more entertaining. I was not amused by the water that got sprayed on me though. I hated getting my hair wet, especially when I had no warning to protect myself.

After that ride we circled back to the start of the park and rode on Minion Mayhem this time I sat with Parker. He kept stealing glances at me paying more attention to me than the ride. I wasn’t too worried about it since the others were sitting in front of us. We then headed over to watch the Animal Actors show before heading to the Studio Tram ride. The tram ride was amazing. I liked being on the back lot of sets not to mention the King Kong experience was insane.
We all then headed toward the lower lot of the park. This involved going down several steep escalators, four to be exact. I was scared the entire time. Heights and me were not friends. Once we were safely on the lower lot I relaxed more. We rode the Transformer ride first which was another simulator, then we headed toward Mummy which was fun until the ride stopped and shot us backwards. Rides were quite terrifying when you had no idea what was going on. After that the boys dragged us on the Jurassic Park ride, I protested the entire time. Everyone who got off the ride was soaked and I didn’t feel like getting wet at five thirty in the afternoon. Of course they didn’t listen to me. Once again I rode with Ava who was just as irritated about being on the ride as I was. Thankfully her and I only got slightly wet while the rest of them were drenched.

Despite them being wet we decided to walk City Walk for a while. We ended up buying more souvenirs before sitting down to eat at Tony Roma’s. I was beginning to think the only reason the boys wanted to come to California was for the food. They each downed a full rack of ribs in under twenty minutes, it was insane.

“Well, here’s to our first successful day in California,” Jayden said toasting us.

I figured when we got back to the hotel that we’d just split up and head to bed. It had been a busy day of traveling and adventure and I was exhausted. That was not the case. Miranda announced that Jayden and her were going to order an in room movie in our room without even consulting Ava and I. I was irritated. Max could tell and he offered up the boys’ room for us until they were done. There was no way I was going to deny the invitation. After changing into my pajamas, Ava and I headed towards the boys room leaving Miranda and Jayden in our room.

“Please don’t do anything gross in here,” I pleaded.

“What do you think we do in our spare time?” Miranda asked, a slight blush rising her cheeks.

“I don’t know and I don’t care to know,” I said chuckling before shutting the door behind me.

The boys’ room was at the other end of the hallway so Ava and I walked toward that way. I was relieved when we were finally inside. Their room was just like ours two beds and one couch with a fold out bed. Max was sitting on one bed while Parker was on the other. We each made our way to the beds where our boyfriends sat.

“I take it Jayden’s getting the couch tonight?” I asked while getting situated on the bed. I was lying on my stomach my feet at Parker’s head.

“He should for ditching us,” Max said, “but no I’ll be sleeping on it. This is his birthday week after all.”

I chuckled and so did Ava. She was currently mimicking my position on her bed. She was just as exhausted as I was.

“I can’t believe they didn’t ask if we even minded,” Ava complained.

Max moved to mirror her position before responding to her. “You didn’t want to hang out with me?” He whined. She laughed before pecking his cheek.

“I’m not complaining,” Parker mumbled beside me. All four of us were now lying on our stomachs facing each other. I looked up at Parker and smiled. He gave me his signature smirk in response before kissing the top of my head.

“How do you guys do it?” Ava asked.

“How do we do what?” I asked a little confused at what she was getting at.

“I think she means how do you guys just ignore each other all day, pretending nothing is going on?” Max filled in for Ava.

I looked up at Parker before speaking. “We’re just really good actors,” I said playfully. I didn’t know what else to say to them. That’s just what we did.

“No but seriously,” Ava added.

“I don’t know. I guess we just act like we did before,” Parker responded.

Come to think of it Parker was right. Even before we started dating, when I claimed to hate him we were still acting. We put so much effort into fighting back then. Now we spent all our effort trying to keep our life a secret.
Parker now had his arm draped around my back. We were just lying in silence watching TV with Max and Ava. It was nice, I don’t know how else to explain it. I couldn’t help but think that every night should be like this.

“You guys put yourselves in a shitty situation,” Max said watching our every movement. Parker and I just shrugged our shoulders. There was nothing to do about it. “What’s really the worst thing that could happen?”

I sighed before responding to Max. “Miranda tells me I told you so and the school decides to spread more rumors about me,” I confused.

“Jayden attempts to kill me,” Parker added.

Which reminded me that we weren’t just keeping this a secret for me. Parker had fears about letting people know too.

“Yeah but aren’t those small consequences if it means you to can be together?” Max questioned.

Parker and I just looked at each other like Max would never understand, and he wouldn’t. Our situation was different and that’s how it had to be. Going public would cause some major backlash.

The television was the only noise coming from the room for a while. We were all beginning to feel the exhaustion of day. I would have fallen asleep if it wasn’t for my phone vibrating in my pocket. It was a text from Miranda saying the movie had ended. Ava and I left the boys and headed back to our room passing Jayden along the way. He said thanks for letting him steal our room and that was it. Once inside I let Ava sleep on the bed and I made my self comfortable on the sofa bed. Tomorrow was going to be another long day.
