Scarlet Malone just started her first year at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. As she adjusts to her new life in the sunshine state, a thousand miles from home, she meets new friends and a guy who captures a part of her. She has a lot to deal with: new school, adjusting to the college life, papers, exams, and her over-bearing mother back in New Hampshire, let alone a few murders that happen right around the campus when she started this semester.

One night with her new friends, they discover her little secret that even she kept from herself. She doesn’t believe in her other side, but it soon becomes much too real for her, whether she wants to believe it or not. Now she has to face what she becomes before it’s too late.
